Is the 2018 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Kia Sorento earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, smooth driving experience, and spacious cabin, while also highlighting its safety features and overall value. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a family-friendly midsize SUV with useful space and a more polished feel. With 30.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still decent market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, especially when it comes to comfort and practicality over the long term. Some owners do mention concerns about power and potential mechanical issues, particularly with the V6 engine, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and condition. For long-term ownership, that means the Sorento can be a solid choice, but you should be selective about the specific example you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without waiting forever for the perfect deal.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 328 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,971 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $13,971 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,915 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less room for appreciation, so resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim choice. Well-kept examples should still hold interest because the model remains practical and family-friendly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Sorento is a strong choice if you want a well-rounded midsize SUV with good value, a comfortable cabin, and plenty of family-friendly practicality. If you are price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years, but the 2018 is a sensible primary target when you find a clean example with the right equipment and service history.
