Is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating points to a well-liked used SUV. For you, that makes this a sensible pick if you want a compact SUV that feels roomy and easy to live with. The market also shows 24.0% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a more dependable turbo engine and a generally trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That said, some owners still raised concerns about engine reliability, so you should pay close attention to maintenance records and how the vehicle has been used.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid a poorly maintained example.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 329 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.36% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $14,818 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,908 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make this model easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to preserve value than someone who pays near the top of the range. The fact that demand is still supported by a solid user rating helps keep the resale outlook from weakening too sharply.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 24.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better choice if you want the redesigned third-generation Equinox with a more modern cabin, updated technology, and a strong mix of comfort and efficiency. If your priority is paying less upfront, a nearby year may be worth a look, but the 2018 gives you a more appealing balance of features, space, and market value.
