Is the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling cabin experience, with many drivers describing the Equinox as comfortable and trouble-free in day-to-day use. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is real enough that a thorough inspection matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused on condition.

• Deal availability: 24.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 166 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,818 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $10,855 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,374 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially clean and well documented. If you buy at the right price and keep maintenance records, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Chevrolet Equinox makes sense if you want a roomy, well-equipped compact SUV and you can verify that the vehicle has been maintained carefully. If you’re price-sensitive, this year’s softer pricing and decent deal availability make it worth considering, but you should still prioritise condition and service history over the lowest sticker price.
