Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 202 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.31% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,547 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $12,547 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,173 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The current range also shows that cleaner, better-priced examples still have room to hold attention from shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Sportage makes sense if you want a comfortable, well-equipped compact SUV and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is also worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a newer or older example offers a better mix of condition, equipment, and asking price.
