Is the 2018 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Kia Sportage earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its solid build, comfortable ride, and impressive interior features, and they also highlight its power and acceleration. That fits well if you want a compact SUV that feels well put together and pleasant to drive day to day. Is the 2018 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans heavily toward dependable, trouble-free ownership, with comments that emphasise a solid build and a vehicle people feel good about keeping for the long term. For used buyers, that suggests the Sportage can be a sensible choice if you prioritise confidence in day-to-day use over chasing the newest features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,827 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $13,827 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,494 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you buy now and plan to sell later. A lower entry price can reduce the amount of value you stand to lose over your ownership period. If the market stays steady, a used Sportage bought near the current average may be easier to resell than one purchased when prices were higher.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?
