Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is a strong choice if you want a stylish, enjoyable-to-drive compact SUV with solid owner approval and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is getting the best value, this year deserves a close look. If you are shopping mainly on price, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2017’s stronger satisfaction and market position.
