Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 306 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.87% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,211 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $13,211 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,696 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Cherokee has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilises. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the upper end of the range. Demand should also be helped by the model’s comfort and feature appeal, especially among shoppers looking for a used Jeep with a more refined feel.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible primary choice if you want a used Cherokee with a strong mix of comfort, features, and current market value. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with lower pricing may be worth a look, but the 2017 stands out as the better-balanced option for most shoppers.
