The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about living with over time, especially when it comes to comfort and everyday usability. That said, some shoppers have noted concerns around resale value and a few specific issues, so a careful inspection still matters. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a poorly maintained example that has been neglected or has unresolved cosmetic or fit-and-finish issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 625 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,469 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $11,469 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,290 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it can also mean a seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you plan to resell later, the current market points to a vehicle that may not command a premium unless it is especially well maintained and attractively equipped. Strong condition, clear service history, and desirable features will matter more when you go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked Escape with a lower average price and decent deal availability. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
