How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

There are 224 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and the Equinox’s roomy cabin and practical day-to-day usability fit well if you want an affordable used crossover that still feels comfortable and useful. The current market also shows 21.4% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile options if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to dependability, with drivers calling out the vehicle’s overall reliability and trouble-free feel in everyday use. That said, this model year sits in a generation known for serious engine problems, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance records and condition before committing to long-term ownership.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can find value if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 21.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 224 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,352 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $11,352 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,976 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Equinox easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be able to soften the impact of future depreciation. Demand should remain supported by the model’s comfort and practicality, but resale value will still depend heavily on maintenance history and overall condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 21.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Chevrolet Equinox makes sense if you want a roomy, comfortable, value-focused compact SUV and you can verify that the specific vehicle has been well maintained. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2016 can be worth a look for similar value, while shoppers who want a cleaner long-term ownership story may prefer to move to a different year.
