Is the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.24/5 user rating, which points to solid owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise its comfort, fuel economy, and value for money, and they also like the good features you get for the price. For you, that makes it a practical compact SUV if you want a roomy, safety-conscious crossover for everyday use rather than something that tries to be sporty or luxurious. With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market choice if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.24/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with comfort and value showing up as recurring strengths. That said, some drivers mention concerns about power and interior quality, so a used example is best approached with a careful inspection and service-history review to reduce long-term ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are comparing multiple listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 313 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.37% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,622 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $17,622 CAD sits slightly below last year's $21,855 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Equinox easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at a strong price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.24/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.24/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a roomy, safety-conscious compact SUV with strong value and a market that currently favours careful shoppers, the 2020 is a sensible target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you should also compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced examples rather than the newest one you can afford.
