Should I buy a 2016 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,615 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $17,909 CAD average.
• It offers strong comfort and a compelling chassis.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping target, the 2016 is the stronger all-around pick thanks to its current pricing, solid owner satisfaction, and broad market availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2015 is the better secondary path and may suit you if you can give up some of the 2016’s newer-year appeal.
