Is the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable in day-to-day use, with praise centred on comfort, space, and a smooth driving experience. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 160 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,940 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $10,973 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,641 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Pathfinder makes sense if you want a roomy, comfortable three-row SUV and you value current pricing that has eased from last year. If you are shopping on a tighter budget, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a lower asking price or a better-equipped example gives you more value for your money.
