How much does the 2016 Kia Soul cost?

Prices have softened 18.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 119 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Kia Soul a good car?

Yes — the 4.65/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, great gas mileage, comfort, handling, and affordability, which fits the Soul’s role as an affordable, easy-to-live-with subcompact hatchback with a distinctive shape. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want something practical and a little different from the usual small-car crowd. With 26.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Kia Soul reliable?

Owners rate it 4.65/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback leans toward dependable everyday use, with praise for the car’s comfort, fuel economy, and solid performance. That kind of feedback suggests the Soul can be a sensible used buy if you want a small vehicle you can count on for routine commuting and errands. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding one that has been maintained well, since condition and upkeep will matter more than the model’s basic appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Kia Soul?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 119 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,973 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Kia Soul's resale value?

The current average of $9,076 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,126 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Soul easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your return will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and how well the vehicle has been kept. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the broader market still matters.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.65/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Kia Soul or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.65/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the Soul’s roomy cabin, distinctive styling, and strong owner approval at a softer price point, the 2016 is a sensible place to focus. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2016’s current market position.
