How much does the 2016 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 22.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 219 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Kia Sorento earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its reliability, performance, smooth ride, handling, and good fuel efficiency, while also appreciating the range of features it offers. For you, that makes it a sensible used SUV if you want a practical midsize model with more passenger space and a more mature overall feel. With 22.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and drivers also describe the Sorento as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. That matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular commuting, family duty, and longer-term ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly, since any higher-mileage SUV can become more expensive to own if upkeep has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 22.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 219 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,790 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $10,790 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,011 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking an immediate depreciation hit. The Sorento’s broad appeal as a practical midsize SUV should still support steady demand, especially among shoppers looking for space and features without paying new-SUV money.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Sorento makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped midsize SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a newer or older Sorento offers a better mix of equipment and asking price, but the 2016 remains a solid value-focused target.
