Is the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its comfort, performance, luxurious features, spacious interior, and strong Hemi engine, which fits well if you want a used SUV that can handle everyday driving and rugged adventures. The Grand Cherokee’s broader appeal also comes from its blend of genuine SUV capability and a more polished, upscale feel than many rivals. With 22.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you may find some attractive options if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights comfort, performance, and a strong Hemi engine, which suggests many drivers have found it dependable enough to live with over time. The praise for its luxurious features and spacious interior also points to a vehicle that can satisfy buyers beyond the first few months of ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that satisfaction can vary depending on how well a specific example has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re comparing multiple listings.

• Deal availability: 22.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 23.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,354 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $15,354 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,009 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, especially for shoppers who value comfort, performance, and a more upscale feel in a used SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 23.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the Grand Cherokee’s comfort, capability, and upscale feel at a lower current price point. If you’re focused on value, this year deserves a close look; if you’re price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a slightly newer or older example gives you a better mix of equipment and asking price.
