2025 Porsche Cayenne Reviews Summary

Verdict: Even the base model Cayenne delivers an agile driving experience, but those willing to dig deep into their bank account for one of Porsche’s more expensive Cayenne models are rewarded with a spirited drive like no other. The competition here is stiff, in the form of other German SUVs like the Audi Q8, BMW X5, and Mercedes-Benz GLE, and their performance variants. However, the Cayenne is not here to lose.

2025 Nissan Rogue Reviews Summary

The 2025 Nissan Rogue is one of the main players in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. Ever since the first Rogue went on sale for the 2008 model year, Nissan has made sure to constantly update and improve what’s now the automaker’s best-selling model in North America.

For the 2025 model year, the Rogue gets a little off-road bravado added to its winning recipe. The Rogue Rock Creek trim is equipped with adventure gear like all-terrain tires, a tubular roof rack, a surround-view camera system, and hill descent control. It also has trim-specific exterior design touches like red trim pieces on the alloy wheels and front grille and “Rock Creek” badges on the front seats. Nissan’s ProPilot Assist 2.1 highway driving assist system is also newly available on the Rogue.

Verdict: With its reasonable price tag and impressive array of comfort features and tech touches, the Rogue is aimed right at the heart of the compact SUV segment. This year’s improvements add a little more polish to the Rogue, particularly with the outdoorsy Rock Creek model and latest generation of Nissan’s hands-free highway driving technology. This is an extremely well-rounded choice, though not everything is perfect.

2025 Porsche Cayenne

9/10

2025 Nissan Rogue

8/10

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne presented itself as a versatile SUV, available in both a standard model with a squared-off rear end and a sporty Cayenne Coupe. The lineup ranged from the base Cayenne to the high-performance Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, each with unique exterior features. The GTS trim, which was the focus of our review, boasted high gloss black trim, a distinctive front fascia with larger air intakes, and tinted headlights. Red brake calipers were visible through 21-inch anthracite gray wheels, and the Cayenne Coupe featured an adaptive rear spoiler. Inside, the Cayenne offered extensive customization options, from colour choices like Carmine Red to various trims and seat belts. While the pricing could escalate with options like a custom paint job, the Cayenne promised a unique and personalized driving experience.

The interior of the Cayenne was a blend of technology and practicality, with numerous screens but retaining mechanical controls for essential functions like HVAC and volume. The layout was well-organized, and the dashboard-mounted shifter toggle allowed for more storage space. The centre console, however, was noted for its tendency to slide with slight pressure. Despite this minor flaw, the cabin was praised for its thoughtful design and customization options, making it a standout in the luxury SUV segment.

The 2025 Nissan Rogue began the model year in Canada with six trims, including the popular SV model, which offered a balance of affordability and desirable features. Priced at $40,685, the SV trim included an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and a power liftgate. All-wheel drive, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel were standard across all Canadian models. The Rogue lineup was set to expand with the introduction of the Rock Creek trim, initially intended for the U.S. market but later confirmed for Canada.

Our test drive focused on the top-tier Platinum trim, which was equipped with semi-aniline leather seating, a panoramic sunroof, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system. The 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, available in the SL and Platinum models, featured Google built-in capability, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. The Rogue's design, finished in Champagne Silver Metallic with a two-tone colour combo, was complemented by 19-inch alloy wheels. The optional Tech Package added advanced features like ProPilot Assist 2.1 and an upgraded surround-view parking camera, enhancing the Rogue's appeal as a tech-savvy compact SUV.

Performance

2025 Porsche Cayenne

2025 Nissan Rogue

7/10

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offered a range of engines, all capable of delivering impressive performance. The base model featured a 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, while the Cayenne S boasted a V8 with 468 hp. The Turbo GT, available only as a coupe, delivered a staggering 650 hp. For those seeking peak performance, plug-in hybrid options offered up to 729 hp. Our GTS-trim tester, with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, produced 493 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed transmission and all-wheel drive. Porsche claimed a 0-100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h.

The Cayenne GTS struck a balance between sporty and comfortable driving, with precise steering and a low centre of gravity. Equipped with Pirelli P Zero tires, stiffer roll bars, and an active suspension, it handled corners with agility. The optional carbon ceramic brakes provided ample stopping power, though they required a learning curve. In Normal mode, the GTS transformed into a comfortable commuter, retaining its V8 charm without the aggression of Sport modes. Porsche's adaptive air suspension and dynamic chassis control were available on lower trims, offering a similar driving experience with less power.

The 2025 Nissan Rogue, powered by a 201-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, provided adequate performance for everyday driving. While it lacked the punch of a four-cylinder engine, the Rogue's drivetrain, paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), delivered smooth acceleration and minimal engine noise. The CVT, a result of Nissan's extensive experience, contributed to a refined driving experience without sacrificing fuel economy.

The Rogue's steering was light and accurate, though not as engaging as some competitors. Braking was smooth and predictable, with no grabbiness at lower speeds. While the Rogue didn't offer the same level of driving excitement as the Cayenne, it provided a comfortable and capable ride for its segment.

Form and function

2025 Porsche Cayenne

2025 Nissan Rogue

8/10

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offered a la carte customization, with limited standard features. The base model included eight-way power-adjustable seats, heated but not cooled or massaging, and two-zone climate control. Higher trims like the GTS added a GT Sport steering wheel and Race-Tex headliner, with options for Race-Tex or leather interiors. The Turbo GT trim featured stainless steel pedal pads and illuminated carbon fibre door-sill guards. The Cayenne's options list was extensive, allowing for personalization of interior materials and features, though at a cost.

The Cayenne accommodated five passengers, with ample headroom in the second row. It could tow up to 3,500 kilograms and carry a payload of over 635 kilograms. Cargo space was slightly smaller than competitors, with 772 litres behind the second row and 1,708 litres with seats folded. The coupe version offered 576 and 1,486 litres, respectively. Plug-in hybrid models had reduced cargo space due to battery placement.

The 2025 Nissan Rogue impressed with its well-designed cabin, featuring quilted leather seating and upmarket trim in the Platinum model. The steering wheel was chunky and flat-bottomed, with easily accessible HVAC controls below the infotainment touchscreen. The front seats were comfortable and supportive, with ample rear legroom at 978 millimetres. Cargo space measured 1,028 litres behind the second row, with a user-friendly layout and the Divide-and-Hide storage system.

The Rogue's cabin offered generous storage, including a compartment beneath the centre console for valuables. The interior design and functionality made the Rogue a practical choice for families and daily commuters.

Technology

2025 Nissan Rogue

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne featured a 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster with up to seven views, depending on trim level. A 12.3-inch touchscreen display ran the Porsche Communication Management system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Spotify, Apple Music, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. An optional 10.9-inch passenger screen allowed for navigation and media control, with a screen filter to prevent driver distraction.

The Cayenne's infotainment system was user-friendly, with quick response times and voice control options. A head-up display provided essential information, though it appeared dim with polarized sunglasses. The system included night-vision assist and HD-Matrix Design LED headlamps. Four high-speed USB-C charging ports and a cooled wireless charging area were standard, ensuring devices stayed charged and cool.

The 2025 Nissan Rogue's infotainment system varied by trim, with an 8-inch touchscreen in lower trims and a 12.3-inch screen in upper trims. The larger screen offered wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enhancing convenience. The system was intuitive, with quick response times and crisp graphics. Google navigation was particularly useful for detours, and ProPilot Assist provided hands-free operation on pre-mapped roads.

A wireless charging pad at the base of the centre console kept devices charged, with a recessed design to prevent phones from sliding during spirited driving. The Rogue's technology offerings made it a competitive choice in the compact SUV segment.

Safety

2025 Porsche Cayenne

7/10

2025 Nissan Rogue

8/10

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offered standard safety features like parking sensors, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring. However, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning were optional. Porsche's InnoDrive adaptive cruise control system, which anticipated traffic incidents, was not available on our test drive. The Cayenne lacked hands-off/eyes-up driving assist features, and neither NHTSA nor IIHS had rated it for safety.

The 2025 Nissan Rogue received a five-star rating from NHTSA and top marks from IIHS, except for an "Acceptable" score in the side impact test. Standard safety features included forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, intersection assist, lane departure warning, rear parking sensors, a driver attention monitor, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional features included a head-up display, ProPilot Assist, a surround-view parking camera, and traffic sign recognition.
