Despite the upscale appearance, the Terrain's interior materials and design did not fully meet expectations for its price range, with some features like the head-up display and pushbutton transmission controls proving less intuitive.

The 2022 Honda Passport shared its platform with the Honda Ridgeline, Odyssey, and Pilot, resulting in a familiar design. The Passport's new styling aimed for a tougher look, with updates applied across all trim levels, including the new TrailSport trim. The TrailSport, designed for off-road appeal, offered 20.5 centimetres of ground clearance and traction management driving modes. Prices ranged from $45,570 to $52,170, with the TrailSport trim priced at $49,270 in Canada. The V6 provided smooth and strong performance, with a combined fuel economy rating of 11.3 litres per 100 kilometres. The Passport's i-VTM4 AWD system offered mechanical torque vectoring, enhancing its handling on twisty roads. Off-road, the Passport managed moderately challenging trails, though it wasn't designed to compete with more rugged SUVs. On-road, the Passport excelled with firm, communicative ride quality and athletic handling, though its brakes showed some vibration on mountain descents.

The 2022 GMC Terrain offered a roomy interior for a compact crossover, with features like power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. The AT4 trim included perforated leather upholstery with caramel-colour contrast stitching. The back seat provided ample legroom and support, with a rear USB charging port. Cargo space measured 838 litres behind the second row, expanding to 1,792 litres with the rear seat folded. The Terrain's interior featured numerous storage solutions, though some were less practical, like the narrow storage tray.

The 2022 Honda Passport boasted easy entry and exit, with large, comfortable seats and standard leather upholstery. The TrailSport trim included heated rear seats, while the Touring trim added ventilated front seats. The Passport's triple-zone automatic climate control system ensured comfort for all passengers. The rear seating area offered generous space and large windows for an open feel. Storage was abundant, with a massive centre console bin and various compartments. Cargo space was impressive, with 1,430 litres behind the rear seat and 2,854 litres with the seat folded.
