I love the mileage, thinking about selling this one and fixing up my VW. Undecided... It does take up a parking space and do I really need all those cars? The mileage is great and the size os good, fits just about anywhere. Easy to get in and out of places.Jan 19, 2014

its 20 years old and totally mint, the paint is torino red, my system makes this car bump, and once i drop my new engine in it i'll be faster then you, i'm gonna have to slap a sticker on my car that reads: racing me can hurt your pride, and get your v8 burned... such a fun car to drive and am always thrilled to see any one driving a crx. kelly blue book is around 1000 dollars so they are cheap if you know where to look, they are easy to work on, and get 35 miles to the gallon, always turns heads, and you can't beat the quality its a HONDA...JDM > american muscle Feb 28, 2011

Overall This is a really good car. The performance is there when you need it and has excellent gas mileage even when racing. The handling is great turns on a dime and stops on one too. Getting up to speed is no problem and has a great power to weight ratio. The Build quality is medium just for the fact that this car has been pieced together between various cars. This is soon to be fixed and the overall appearance is medium just needs some new paint and a little body work. This car is really fun to drive and I would recommend this car to everyone that is looking for a true sport compact. Jan 31, 2011

It is a smart peppy little car with great handling and performance Mine is the SiR so plenty of power throw a little money at it and you wont be disappointed. There's nothing like the sound of the Vtech kicking in at 4500RPM and the power serge that fallows. Whether you are a track day fan or just like to rip up the mountain roads this car is sure to excite the body. Nov 22, 2010

I love this car. Great ride, handles like a dream. Runs great, easy to work on, parts are cheap. Even with the small motor in it it gets up and goes. After some add on parts and some work in the garage it goes a bit faster. I'm waiting to do more motor work and add a turbo. Jun 17, 2010

Performance-stock not to much. but considering it is a honda you can do just about anything to it. and performance is unlimited.
Build-only problems I ever had was with the sunroof liking to leak. besides that it was golden. then again it is honda and they can last you forever.
Appearance-she's not the best looking car out there but she isn't the ugliest out there either.
Cost-cheap and easy to build. just about everything for the car can be found cheap.
Fun Factor-with the right amount of money spent she can be the best car you'll ever drive. Feb 11, 2010

best handling, great acceleration, amazing braking, reliable,
and easy/cheap to fix. highway got 44mpg with 3 people and
a transmission in the hatch, and never got less than 30mpg no
matter how hard I hit her. The best car I have ever owned.Jan 03, 2010

I love my CRX HF. But I hate the engine. The
stock engine is a dog. Cannot travel well in
the mountains. Cheap to run though and
really a blast to drive. Gets 50 MPG on the
highway. Going to upgrade engine to a V-
tech or a turbo engine.
No parts availability for smog on standard
engine. Developed idle problem and costs to
fix is high. So Vtech here I come. Body has
standard rust problems. Had to replace seats
because of holes. Fun to work on though.Dec 26, 2009

Hondas' are really durable. CRXs have one of the most part upgrades available among sport compacts. Looks cool and will look even better with aftermarket parts! Fun to drive. Parts are cheap and is easy to work on. Great for drag racing as a hobby.Sep 03, 2009

Performance - Go-Kart like acceleration/Handling. Build Quality - Great considering the age.
Appearance - Unigue and classic Honda design.
Cost of Ownership - Gas Mileage: City 8KM/Liter; Highway 12KM/Liter. Maintainance: Easy and cheap as Civic but getting harder and harder to get new parts. Reasonable C/P value.
Fun Factor - Fun to drive.Aug 24, 2009

Light, and with the mods I have, super quick.
Quick handling, and with a little money thrown at it, rides like it's on rails.
I look forward to the commute to/from work every day I get to drive this car.Aug 14, 2009

I only wish Honda Continued making cars like this. Yes there are similarities in the 2000 Insight and the New 2009 Insight sedan but those two models is not as mught fun as the CRX. You can modified the CRX to endless possibilities. However I like mine stock as this CRX has personelly been tested ranging from 38 MPG CITY and 62 MPG HIGHWAY. The New 2009 CRX Cannot beat that MPG. I think I read an Article from Automobile May-July 2009 magazine reviewed the Original CRX HF 1984 vs. 2009 Insight. They said the original CRX HF gets better MPG than the new 2009 Insight. Although weight plays another part. Since 1985 CRX HF only weighs 1,700 lbs vs 3,000 lbs 2009 Insight.Aug 12, 2009

Performance is great : well balanced, good braking, and
with 3.2 bhp per pound it's FAST!
Build quality : Intricate parts are really good, bodywork =
a bit to thin, interior looks like the cockpit from an airplaine!
Cost of ownership : It has good mileage but like with any
fast car it takes a bit of maintenance on replaceable parts.
Fun factor : 11/10 :D Jul 13, 2009

Great mileage, very sexy, but also pretty slow. It had a 72 HP engine but got 40+ MPG. Only a two seater so it was great for explaining why I couldn't be the designated driver. Huge "trunk" in the hatch area.Mar 28, 2009

I absolutely loved this car. The only reason I sold it was because I HAD to to have a place to live. Mine had a D16ZC swapped in it with exhaust, headers, intake, ecu racing chip, etc. It handled like a dream and I really loved the rack and pinion steering.Mar 17, 2009

This is my second CRX Mk-ll that had for bout 4yrs (1st was bit rusty) 89) Amazing little motor, that good between myself & few mates we`ve owned 2 Mk-l, 3 Mk-ll 16v, 2 Mk-ll VT that we swapped/sold over past 10 yrs. Even tho this model is 20 yrs old it still fits in the times of 2day! can get anything from 230miles-350miles per tank (from Kaining it - long distance) as for the fun factor of this car is like driving a Go-Kart that can nicely potter alongMar 05, 2009

I love my CRX. The handling is incredible, the acceleration could use a little work but thats what you get with 287000mi on the engine. The frame is strong but the body likes to rust. The exterior design is sleek and sharp, the interior is nice but could use a little work also. The gas mileage is amazing, i love being able to go upwords of 250mi w/ one tank of gas. This car is so much fun to drive, especially in the snow.Feb 24, 2009

its pretty rusty, and the clutch and transaxle grinde abit
but the build of the care is nice and it handles like a dream
(i once took opposing 90's at 50 mph)
accelleration is good but not great
breaks veary well on stock brakes because it is so light
after 17 years of solid use it just has some rust
hondas are cheep to repair yourself in my opinion
it gets about 40 mpg wich if friggen sweet
and this car is super fun to driveNov 04, 2008

A small yet interesting car to drive in even though it's already 17yrs old now. With proper restoration to the exterior and some engine works, the car will run better and faster than most of the newer cars on the road now.
Great car for drag strip and definitely on lights.Oct 06, 2008

Very nice small hatchback from Honda. It originally had a 1.6l Dohc engine, but i changed it into next generation 1.8l Dohc VTEC engine. The car was so fun to drive. I absolutely loved every minute owning it. Sometimes i still miss her, very nice piece of machine. Great fun, thanks alot honda buddies!May 25, 2008

The tiny 2 door, 2 seater car more than exceeded my expectations. On top of being fairly quick, I got an average of 47 mpg. Being so small and lightweight, it handled like it was on rails. Like any other older Honda, they are very prone to rust around the quarter panels. My sunroof flew off while I was driving due to tripple digit speeds and rusted brackets. Apr 19, 2008

mine now has a B17A1 GSR swap, high-flow cat and custom catback exhaust, AEM cold air intake, 17" Enkies, coil overs, ABS dynamics carbon fiber front lip, Hondata intake manifold gasket, and other little JDM goodiesApr 18, 2008

Handled like it was on rails, and only weighed about 2000 pounds with me in it, so it was quick as well. had a B18A1 from an integra swapped in, and was fun as hell. Interior could have been better, but it being honda nad invincible makes up for it. Follows hondas bullet proof engine design like always, and was very very well builtApr 12, 2008

I bought this car because my Z was out of commission. I didn't want to drive my dad to Hayward every morning before school. Most of all, gas is getting expensive. I needed a daily driver. Roofus was the answer. I didn't need looks I needed something that can be driven without worrying about reliability.Mar 14, 2008

This car was light and low powered. 72 hp, but it sipped gasoline in an excelent way. The acceleration was about the same as a Civic. I wanted to put a decent engine in it, and with the lightest body you can find in a Honda, this thing would have flown. Unfortunatly, a terminal timing belt problem ended this car life and useability. Sold to some guy who had 5 CRX's and wanted a HF body to throw a JDM ZC engine in it.Feb 15, 2008
