This car gets me more questions and offers than anything I've ever owned. People seems to have a very strong overwhelming feeling about the CRX si enough that at least once a week somebody ask me about it when I'm filling up the tank which is only once a week (41mpg). Which only makes me want to keep it more. Why back in 1988 could we make a car (non-hybrid) get 40-42mpg but 25 years later we feel lucky to achieve that...heck we brag about it in commericals.Jul 23, 2013

Test drove the original CRX back in the 80's and always wanted one. I guess I am re-living my youth, but hey, I am loving it. What a fun car, easy to maintain with great Honda reliability. I had this one re-painted monotone which I like. There are a few things that need some attention, but the interior is near perfect and air blows COLD! Gotta love the original pocket rocket. liked all the Genuine Honda accessories-5 spoke rims, armrest, equilizer and foglights and the CRX embroidered front 1/2 bra; didn't like the autotragic tranny. I really liked the lower hatch window when parking; it was excellent in being able to judge space-my previous CRX didn't have this and parking in Richmond's Fan District is already a complicated exercise without bumper tapping (I have no problem parallel parking-but people will leave lots of space behind them and hope nobody parks in front of them).Feb 25, 2011

good handling good performance, never drove it but someday ill buy one for myself. easy to work on. very easy to out brake heavier cars in corners. front wheel drive alows for corrections if you make a mistake, like if you go off the track. or ill turn my street CRX Si into a race car.Dec 12, 2010

Sporty, Great on gas! new exhaust but it's not a loud buzzing exhaust. just a walker performance slightly louder than stock. Great engine with 100,000+ miles on it. car is really fun to drive. bilstein shocks and springs. rotors all around. great brakes. interior upholstery needs re-upholstering but its not disgusting just floor mats need the crx label restiched and new seats were put in. its been through a few bumps and dings, window cracks from track days(i hate rocks) slid down our snowy driveway into the chrysler but barely any damage. rust around the wheel wells is common among the crx's. but excellent carDec 11, 2010

Performance - Sky is the limit, you can make it what you want. A drag
car, a nostalgic piece of automotive history, a road course racer, a daily
commuter.
Build - It's a HONDA nuff said. It's my first and definitely not my last
Appearance - Love it.
Cost of ownership - Relatively cheap, if it has been well cared for, mind
you it's over 20 years old.
Fun Factor - Sky is the limit. I love mine fun to drive, all around great
daily driver or spirited driving car. Nov 26, 2010

I am currently fixing what is wrong with my little project first. Soon I will be working on the looks of the little go kart. The car is a blast to drive. I find myself doing 30 over all the time. I have purchase and installed new Integra seats, a 1.6 ZC motor and changed a few parts. Pics to come.Nov 08, 2010

for entry level racing the honda crx can handle all the pressure from those other cars such as mitsubisi subauru etc..and also very economical in stock configuration and with the wright suspension, it is absolutely the most fun jdm car to own and drive.Feb 27, 2010

Fantastic car and will always be a classic in terms of performance fuel economy and just an all around piece of engineering. If anyone is thinking of buying one GET IT! Its cheap, fun, and my favorite car ive ever driven. The only downside is they stopped making them 20 years ago so most of them are rust buckets and have a ton of miles because no one wanted to take care of a honda. Cannot praise this car enough!!! This car was a clunker when I bought it for $1000 with a new cat back stainless steel exhaust. Over 5 years I had the rust repaired (well covered up with bondo), Installed a new clutch, timing belt, water pump, alternator belt, 3 alternators (gotta love the O'rielly warranty), new front brake calipers, pads, tires, taillight (was cracked from previous owner), radiator, stitched up both front seats, cleaned K&N filter, installed ceramic coated headers, im sure there is more I am forgetting.
All in all I put 80,000 hard miles on this vehicle, taught 2 people how to drive a stick on it, got 40 mpg, and it never left me stranded. This vehicle is a great example of Honda quality and engineering.

my car is a dx so it came with a 98 hp carb. engine. it is pretty slow for now. it has 220k on it, but hondas build the best engine heads so this thing will run forever. i get around 30-35 mpg. its a good gas saver. the interior is nice i put seat covers on the stock seats. theyre pretty comfy. overall the crx is a very good car.Sep 01, 2009

The only 2 seater was awsome i loved my little car of course I had alot more then stock done to it motor, Interior exterior and rims/tires the works ... I loved my first car i put over $4 k into it total to make it my own. Navy blue on white paint sceme with lots of aftermarket parts.. the car cost me $800 to buy and sold for $3 k ..With a turbo in a 4 cylinder and a lead foot gas milage sucked but $15 always filled the tank and then some...Top speed 145 mph at 7,100 RPM.. Best little damn car ever! I always had the si's - Recaro seats with side bolsters, great ergonomics - handles like a go cart - fantastic gas mileage.... FUN FUN FUN! I had 4 of them over a period of several years, (2nd gen - 88 - 91) and may go back again! (it's an illness other CRX fans may understand!) Also - they are great for sound systems because of the tight quarters. :) 88 was the only year that didn't have the passive restraint attached to the door - it weighed less, and was the best for a track car..... but the 90 and 91 had disc brakes all around.... their all good, though!Aug 08, 2008

it was fast and had the best handling u can find! it is a cheap buy, and gets really good gas mileage. it has only 2 seats. you can upgrade the hell out of it though. mine was white with a black hood. looked like it got shot up too! but overall that was my first car and i miss it.Jun 26, 2008

Unfortunately I only had the DX model, so performance wasn't really one of the cars highlight. However, as far as handling goes, it was amazing. When you look at the car you'd think wow that car is really small and probably a death trap. On the contrare, after going through an 8in in diameter fence post and then head on into abuot a 3ft in diameter oak tree, the car only had the front right side of the car all messed up. Well and some of the undercarriage from the fence post going up under the car. Jun 04, 2008

Many people love the crx for its lightweight body and great gas mileage. This is a unique car because it can be swapped with any other Honda motor to make big power out of a small car. Its a great project car and for a car thats worth a grand, id says its worth it.May 14, 2008

It had 236,000 miles on the car, and we dyno'd it. It measured 100 hp at the wheels. That
means that after that many miles the engine was solid as ever.Mar 01, 2008
