Had this for about 5 years. Ran great. A limitited time offer Team ford Model.
Had a 1.6, sunroof, 5 spead and very nice mags. The car could "sit" in any turn in
the road... best i ever had. would not mind if i get it back

actually, i loved it. it was reliable..never broke down in 15 yrs..the body work was a bit poor..it had lots of rust that i took out. it was simple to maintaim..changed the oil, brake pads and oil filter myself..i wish i never got rid of it! Didn't cost a cent to run, except for petrol.Feb 19, 2010

I owned the car for about 10 years and used it as a daily drive. It was the 1600 sport which I had converted to 5 sp and fitted a weber carb and K&N filter. I had the interior covered in leather and resprayed it yellow with black 15 inch mags.Gas milage was bad but that was more my right foots fault than the carsMar 13, 2009

what i like is that the car handles very well and excelerates quickly
and what i dislike is that the car keeps breaking is it me or is it the car that just cant handle me and my heavy foot of led Jan 17, 2009

I love it, It puts a smile on my face when ever i look at it let alone drive it, Sure it isnt the most reliable car but it's almost 30 years old. i have never owned a car that attracts so much attention and peaple seem to all ways wanted one at some point in there life. And the mk2 rs escort will still win Rallys even today, now thats pedigree.Dec 06, 2008

I find the Ford Escort to have a lot of potencial.
There are many visual enhancements available
but you will still be unique.
The body and is rather durable and can withstand
quite a blow without majour entegrity damage.
The 1600 crossflow engine lasts well if treated with care.
All said, it is not my opinion that this car will make for a good means of trevelling long distances, but excellent for town driving.Apr 08, 2008

A wolf in sheeps clothing and lots of performance parts available.
Most people dont know what it is and the 1.3 or 1.1 boot tag + age of these vehicles really confuses the boy racers when out performed.
Not an out and out speed-demon but can easily out handle and accelerate its modern counterparts but lacks top end speed. It is still winning motorsport events against subaru impreza's and other quality rally machinery from today albeit in non-standard format.Mar 03, 2008

I grew up with and eventually learned to drive a Ford Escort Panelvan. This thing was only good for packing camping stuff in. Other than that, it had rust, cockroaches, yes thats right, bad handling, bad performance and hippy looks.Jan 11, 2008
