What should I look for when buying a used Kia Soul?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision avoidance assist, automatic emergency braking, lane follow assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert on the EX trim and above
• Infotainment: 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the LX, EX, and EX+ trim levels

Which Kia Soul trim should I buy?

The 2023 Kia Soul offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim includes a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Bluetooth, making it the value-focused starting point.
• EX: Adds the driver-assist suite, heated steering wheel, and other comfort and safety upgrades, making it the best-value trim for many shoppers.
• EX+: Builds on the EX with the same core equipment and adds the higher-trim infotainment and convenience content described in the expert review.
• EX Premium: Adds the 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless phone charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more upscale cabin equipment.

What Kia Soul do most buyers choose?

The Kia Soul years with the most listings are 2020, 2019, and 2021.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they sit in the sweet spot between newer features and lower used-car prices. They also give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim and condition.

What is the Kia Soul's resale value?

Most Kia Soul model years have seen meaningful price declines over the past year, which can work in your favour as a used buyer. The newer models in the table are also moving lower, though some years are falling faster than others. The smallest changes are concentrated in the oldest and some of the newer model years, which suggests a mix of stronger retention at the low end and softer pricing elsewhere.

The 2014, 2022, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Kia Soul safe?

• 2023: 6/10
• 2020: 8/10

For the safest used buy, the 2020 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.
