New & Used 2026 RAM 2500 for Sale nearSaint-Jacques, NB

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It’s built for buyers who need serious capability rather than urban convenience, with multiple cab and bed choices, a powerful engine, and impressive towing and off-road capabilities. The trade-offs are clear: it’s big, expensive, and hard to park in tight city spaces, and advanced safety features are not standard.

For shoppers who need a heavy-duty pickup that can work hard and still offer a current-feeling lineup, it makes a strong case. 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is positioned as a serious work-focused heavy-duty pickup, and its expert assessment reinforces that it’s designed around durability-minded capability rather than light-duty convenience. Its stout powertrains and hard-working strength are central to its appeal, and the truck’s overall setup suggests it’s meant to handle demanding use.

The performance notes also point to a proven engine lineup, including a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and an available 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel engine, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a large, costly truck whose upkeep and running costs can rise quickly if you choose a higher-spec or diesel-equipped example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tradesman is a no-frills workhorse with a plain matte plastic grille and black steel wheels, while the Big Horn adds chrome. Black Express brings a street-oriented look with a Sport Performance Hood, 20-inch black wheels, and black tubular side steps, but that hood reduces forward visibility more than ideal. Warlock adds off-road-focused styling and hardware, including 20-inch diamond-cut wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires, plus black grille surround, fender flares, and bumpers. Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn move you toward more comfort and luxury, with the Limited Longhorn noted for high-end leather finishes.
• Powertrain: Every Ram 2500 uses a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, while the available 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel makes 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the better choice if you need maximum towing strength, while the Hemi feels quicker around town.
• Safety package: Adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition are part of the Safety Group package. Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on all other trim levels.
• Infotainment: Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie get a 12-inch unit. Top-shelf trucks have a 14.4-inch touchscreen. Uconnect 5 is standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in navigation is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2026 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 2500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Black Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited, and Limited Longhorn.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-first choice if you want the lowest entry point and don’t need much in the way of extras. It’s the plainest trim, so it suits buyers who care more about capability than comfort.
• Big Horn: This is the sensible step up if you want a bit more polish than the Tradesman without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds chrome and is the next rung in the range, making it a practical value pick for many shoppers.
• Black Express: This is the best fit if you want a more distinctive street-oriented look, standard 4WD, and Crew Cab availability. It adds the Sport Performance Hood, black wheels, and black tubular side steps, but the hood hurts forward visibility.
• Warlock: This is the trim to consider if you want an off-road-leaning setup with all-terrain tires, skid protection, hill descent control, and a locking rear differential. It’s a strong choice for buyers who want trail-ready hardware without moving to the most expensive trims.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-focused sweet spot if you want more creature comforts and a larger 12-inch infotainment screen. It also gets standard blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Rebel: This is another off-road-oriented option, and it also gets the larger 12-inch screen and standard safety equipment listed above.
• Power Wagon: This is the most serious off-road model in the lineup, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting front sway bar. It also gets standard blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and ParkSense.
• Limited: This is the luxury-leaning choice if you want high-end leather and the most upscale feel in the range. It also includes the standard safety equipment found on the upper trims.
• Limited Longhorn: This is the premium luxury alternative with high-end leather finishes and standard 4WD. It’s also one of the trims where the diesel and Mega Cab combinations are offered, making it a strong fit if you want maximum presence and capability.

The safety package is optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn, but standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2026 RAM 2500 earns a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA in Crew Cab spec, with four-star frontal crash ratings, five-star side crash ratings, and three-star rollover ratings.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram’s Safety Group package includes adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, and the rollover result is weaker than the rest of the NHTSA testing.

Should I buy a 2026 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals. Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal. Ram’s 2026 update adds a new pair of trim levels while keeping the truck’s serious capability front and centre.
• Consider the 2025 if: It offers strong capability with a more refined feel and a meaningful upgrade over earlier versions.
• The bottom line: If you want the newest trim mix and a current-feeling heavy-duty Ram, the 2026 is the better target. If you’re shopping on price and still want the core strength of the 2500, the 2025 is worth a close look because it delivers much of the same capability with a potentially easier entry point.
