New & Used 2026 RAM 2500 for SaleNationwide

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — you rate it 5/5, and the expert rating is 7.7/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is aimed at you if you need a heavy-duty pickup that can do serious work rather than make city driving easy. It is described as big, expensive, and hard to park in urban confines, but also as a truck that is absolutely necessary for buyers who need stout powertrains and serious capability. It offers multiple cab and bed choices, a powerful engine, and impressive towing and off-road capability.

The main trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and it gets expensive fast.

With 27.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is positioned as a serious work truck with stout powertrains and heavy-duty capability, which supports the idea that it is built for demanding use. Its expert assessment also points to strong form-and-function value, which matters when you plan to keep a truck for hard work over time.

The 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and available 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel are both established powertrains, and the diesel’s huge torque output reinforces the truck’s durability-focused mission. Ram also notes that the diesel is a popular upgrade among heavy-duty buyers.

If you buy used, your main long-term ownership risk is cost: this is a big, complex truck that can become expensive to own and maintain.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tradesman is a no-frills workhorse with a plain matte plastic grille and black steel wheels, while the Big Horn adds chrome. Black Express adds a street-oriented look with a Sport Performance Hood, 20-inch black wheels, and black tubular side steps. Warlock is aimed at the off-road crowd with unique decals, a black grille surround, fender flares, bumpers, 20-inch diamond-cut wheels, and 33-inch all-terrain tires. Laramie adds the expected creature comforts, while Limited and Limited Longhorn bring high-end leather interiors.
• Powertrain: Every Ram 2500 uses a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, or an optional 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the stronger towing choice, while the Hemi feels quicker around town.
• Safety package: Ram’s Safety Group includes adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition. Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on all other trims.
• Infotainment: Screen size depends on trim. Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie get a 12-inch unit, and top-shelf trucks have a 14.4-inch touchscreen. Uconnect 5 is standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while built-in navigation is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2026 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 2500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Black Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited, and Limited Longhorn.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the no-frills workhorse if you want the lowest entry point and do not need luxury touches. It makes the most sense if your priority is utility over comfort.
• Big Horn: This adds a bit more polish than the Tradesman, including chrome exterior treatment, and is a sensible step up if you want a more dressed-up truck without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Black Express: This is the best-value style-focused choice if you want a sporty street look. It brings the Crew Cab body, standard 4WD, blacked-out exterior details, and a black cloth interior.
• Warlock: This is the off-road-oriented choice in the middle of the range. It adds all-terrain tires, skid protection, hill descent control, and other hardware that suits rougher terrain.
• Laramie: This is the sweet spot if you want the truck’s comfort and tech to start feeling properly upscale. It also gets the larger 12-inch touchscreen and standard 12-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want an off-road-focused trim with more equipment than the lower grades, while still staying below the luxury end of the range.
• Power Wagon: This is the serious off-road model, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting front sway bar.
• Limited: This is the luxury pick if you want a high-end leather interior and the most premium feel in the lineup.
• Limited Longhorn: This is the other top-end luxury choice, with a high-end leather interior and a more distinctive finish.

Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn.

Should I buy a 2026 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds new-for-2026 Black Express and Warlock trims.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It is a meaningful upgrade for serious work and heavy-duty buyers.

The bottom line: Choose the 2026 if you want the latest trim mix and a truck that still delivers the Ram 2500’s core capability. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 remains a strong alternative because it already delivers the same heavy-duty mission with proven capability.
