New & Used 2026 RAM 2500 for Sale near Quebec

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 RAM 2500 earns 5/5 from users and 7.7/10 from CarGurus experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It is aimed at buyers who need serious capability rather than easy city driving, and it is described as big, expensive, and hard to park in urban confines. Even so, its purpose-built focus is clear: it is meant to work hard, with multiple cab and bed choices, a powerful engine, and impressive towing and off-road capabilities.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and it gets expensive fast. For shoppers who need a heavy-duty truck for hauling, towing, or demanding work, that mission-first approach is the point.

26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is presented as a heavy-duty truck built to work hard, and its stout powertrains and serious capability support that role. The available 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel are both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel’s huge torque output is aimed squarely at heavy-duty use.

The performance notes also point to a truck that is engineered for demanding ownership, with the diesel prioritising towing strength over quick acceleration. If you plan to use it as intended, the long-term ownership risk is mainly tied to the cost and complexity that come with a large, capability-focused truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tradesman is a no-frills workhorse with a plain matte plastic grille and black steel wheels, while Big Horn adds chrome. Black Express brings a street-oriented look with a Sport Performance Hood, 20-inch black wheels, and black tubular side steps, but that hood reduces forward visibility. Warlock is aimed at the off-road crowd with unique decals, a black grille surround, fender flares, bumpers, 20-inch diamond-cut wheels, and 33-inch Goodyear Duratrac all-terrain tires. Laramie adds the creature comforts many truck buyers expect, while Limited and Limited Longhorn move into high-end leather interiors.

• Powertrain: Every Ram 2500 uses a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, and an optional 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel delivers 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the stronger choice for heavy towing, while the Hemi feels quicker around town. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard with both engines.

• Safety package: Ram’s Safety Group includes adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition. Blind spot monitoring with conventional trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on all other trim levels.

• Infotainment: Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn come with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie get a 12-inch unit. Top-shelf trucks have a 14.4-inch touchscreen. Ram’s Uconnect 5 software is standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in navigation is optional. A 10.25-inch passenger touchscreen is also available.

• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2026 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 2500 is offered in 7 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Black Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the no-frills workhorse, so it makes sense if you want the most basic heavy-duty RAM 2500 and plan to keep costs down.
• Big Horn: This adds chrome and is the next rung up from Tradesman, making it a sensible step if you want a little more polish without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Black Express: This is the street-oriented choice, with standard 4WD, a Crew Cab body, and either a short 6-foot-4-inch bed or an 8-foot bed. It suits buyers who want a more distinctive look, but the hood’s visibility trade-off is worth noting.
• Warlock: This is the off-road-focused trim, with all-terrain tires, skid protection, hill descent control, and other hardware that supports rougher use.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-focused pick for buyers who want the creature comforts truck owners expect, plus stronger standard safety coverage than the lower trims.
• Rebel: This is another off-road-oriented choice, and it also gets the larger 12-inch infotainment screen and standard blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Power Wagon: This is the most serious off-road model in the lineup, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting front sway bar.

For safety-package coverage, blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but not on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, or Big Horn.

Ram’s active safety tech is solid, but many features are bundled into an optional Safety Group, even on high-end models. That package includes adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition. Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on the rest of the lineup. The IIHS had not released ratings at the time of writing.

Should I buy a 2026 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Choose the 2026 if: Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

• Choose the 2026 if: It adds new-for-2026 Black Express and Warlock trims while staying true to its heavy-duty mission.

• Consider the 2025 if: It is a meaningful upgrade to one of America’s most capable trucks.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the updated trim mix and you can live with heavy-duty-truck size and pricing, the 2026 is the better default choice. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2025 remains worth a look because it delivers the core capability in a very similar package.
