New & Used 2026 RAM 2500 for Sale near McKellar, ON

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It is built for you if you need serious capability rather than urban convenience, with multiple cab and bed choices, a powerful engine, and impressive towing and off-road capability. The trade-offs are clear: it is big, expensive, and hard to park in tight city spaces, and it is not a bargain. As a used-truck shopper, you should expect the price to climb quickly as you move up the range.

With 27.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is described as a heavy-duty truck designed to work hard, and its stout powertrains and serious capability support that mission. The 6.4-litre Hemi V8 is described as more-than-adequate, while the 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel is presented as an extremely popular upgrade for buyers who need heavy towing strength. Ram also notes that the diesel is chosen by more than two-thirds of Ram HD buyers, which reinforces its reputation as the go-to choice for demanding use.

For ownership, the main risk is straightforward: if you buy one for heavy-duty work, you should budget for heavy-duty running costs and a higher purchase price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tradesman is a no-frills workhorse with a plain matte plastic grille and black steel wheels, while the Big Horn adds chrome. Black Express brings a street-oriented look with a Sport Performance Hood, 20-inch black wheels, and black tubular side steps, but the hood reduces forward visibility more than ideal. Warlock is aimed at the off-road crowd with unique decals, a black grille surround, fender flares, bumpers, 20-inch diamond-cut wheels, and 33-inch Goodyear Duratrac all-terrain tires. Laramie adds the creature comforts many truck owners expect, while Limited and Limited Longhorn bring high-end leather interiors.
• Powertrain: Every Ram 2500 uses a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic. The optional 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel makes 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque, and it is the better choice if you need the truck’s maximum towing strength.
• Safety package: Ram’s Safety Group includes adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition. Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on all other trim levels.
• Infotainment: Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn use an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie get a 12-inch unit. Top-shelf trucks have a 14.4-inch touchscreen. Uconnect 5 is standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in navigation is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2026 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 2500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Black Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited, and Limited Longhorn.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point if you want the lowest entry price and do not need many extras. It is the most basic trim, so you should expect the fewest comfort and convenience features.
• Big Horn: This is the sensible step up if you want a little more polish than the Tradesman without jumping into luxury pricing. It adds chrome and remains a practical choice for many buyers.
• Black Express: This is the best fit if you want a more distinctive street-oriented look, standard 4WD, and Crew Cab availability. It also gets the 8.4-inch touchscreen and blacked-out styling details.
• Warlock: This is the trim to consider if you want an off-road-leaning setup without moving all the way to the most specialised models. Its all-terrain tyres, skid plate, Bilstein shocks, and hill descent control make it the most obvious value pick for trail use.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the comfort and tech many truck buyers want, including the larger 12-inch touchscreen and standard digital instrument cluster.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want an off-road-focused truck with more equipment than the lower trims and the larger 12-inch infotainment screen.
• Power Wagon: This is the serious off-road choice, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting front sway bar.
• Limited: Pick this if you want the most upscale feel and high-end leather interior, along with the top-tier equipment expected at this price point.
• Limited Longhorn: This is for you if you want luxury with a more distinctive finish, though availability may vary in dealer inventory.

Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn.

Ram offers a solid number of active safety technologies, but most are packaged as part of an optional Safety Group, even on high-end models. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on all other trim levels.

Should I buy a 2026 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ram’s 2026 update adds a new pair of trim levels while keeping the truck’s core work-focused purpose intact.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a meaningful upgrade feel with strong capability and increasing levels of luxury and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the latest trim additions and a current-feeling heavy-duty setup, the 2026 is the better default choice. If you are shopping with a tighter budget, the 2025 remains a smart alternative because it delivers the same core heavy-duty strengths and may cost less on the used market.
