New & Used 2026 RAM 2500 for Sale near Douglas, ON

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2026 RAM 2500 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It is built for buyers who need serious capability rather than easy city driving, and it is described as big, expensive, and hard to park in urban confines. At the same time, it offers multiple cab and bed choices, a powerful engine, and impressive towing and off-road capabilities, which makes it a strong fit if you value work-ready strength over everyday convenience.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and that it gets expensive fast. Even so, the market shows 24.4% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2026 RAM 2500 is presented as a heavy-duty truck built around serious capability, and the expert notes reinforce that it is designed to work hard. Its base 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and available 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel are both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel is described as an extremely popular upgrade for buyers who need heavy towing strength.

The performance notes also point to practical dependability for hard use: the diesel’s 9,070-kilogram maximum tow rating and the gasoline engine’s 1,785-kilogram maximum payload rating show that it is engineered for demanding jobs. If you are buying used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that this is a costly heavy-duty truck, so repairs, fuel, and option content can add up quickly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Tradesman is a no-frills workhorse with a plain matte plastic grille and black steel wheels, while the Big Horn adds chrome. Black Express brings a street-oriented look with a Sport Performance Hood, 20-inch black wheels, and black tubular side steps, but the hood reduces forward visibility more than ideal. Warlock is aimed at the off-road crowd with unique decals, a black grille surround, fender flares, bumpers, 20-inch diamond-cut wheels, and 33-inch Goodyear Duratrac all-terrain tires. Laramie adds the creature comforts most truck owners expect, while Limited and Limited Longhorn move into high-end leather interiors.
• Powertrain: All Ram 2500 models use a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, or an available 6.7-litre Cummins turbocharged diesel with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the stronger towing choice, while the Hemi feels quicker around town.
• Safety package: Adaptive steering, active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and traffic sign recognition are part of the Safety Group package. Blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited, and Limited Longhorn, but optional on Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn. ParkSense parking sensors are optional on Tradesman, Black Express, and Warlock, but standard on all other trim levels.
• Infotainment: Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, and Big Horn get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie use a 12-inch unit. Top-shelf trucks have a 14.4-inch touchscreen. Uconnect 5 is standard, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in navigation is optional.
• Fuel efficiency: The diesel engine adds 13,995 CAD and is the better choice if you need maximum towing strength, while the gasoline Hemi is the better fit if you want the truck that feels quicker around town.

Which 2026 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2026 RAM 2500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Black Express, Warlock, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited, and Limited Longhorn.

Here's the short version:

• Big Horn: This adds chrome and is the next step up from Tradesman, making it a sensible value pick if you want a little more polish without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Black Express: This new-for-2026 trim gives you a street-oriented look, standard 4WD, and either a short 6-foot-4-inch bed or an 8-foot bed, but it also reduces forward visibility more than ideal.
• Warlock: This new-for-2026 trim is the off-road-focused choice, with all-terrain tires, skid protection, hill descent control, and other hardware that suits rougher terrain.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the creature comforts most truck owners expect, plus standard blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, pedestrian detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 12-inch infotainment screen.
• Rebel: This is another off-road-oriented option, and it also gets the larger 12-inch infotainment screen and standard safety content that is missing on lower trims.
• Power Wagon: This is the serious off-road model, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting front sway bar.
• Limited: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with high-end leather and standard safety content.
• Limited Longhorn: This is the other top-end luxury trim, with high-end leather and standard safety content, though it may be harder to find in dealer inventory.

• Choose the 2026 if: 24.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Choose the 2026 if: Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Choose the 2026 if: It adds new Black Express and Warlock trims while keeping the truck’s core capability focus intact.
• Consider the 2025 if: It is a meaningful upgrade to one of America’s most capable trucks with increasing luxury and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the latest trim additions and you value heavy-duty capability first, the 2026 is the better default choice.
