Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 is a five-passenger premium compact crossover that leans on clean Scandinavian design, strong safety credentials, and standard equipment. Volvo positions it as a refined small SUV for buyers who want a luxurious, understated feel rather than something flashy, and its fuel-efficient powertrains add to that appeal.

For you, that means the XC60 makes the most sense if you value a premium cabin, safety tech, and a polished everyday driving experience more than maximum space or sporty character. The model’s long-running popularity also supports its case as a mainstream luxury choice.

25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2025 Volvo XC60’s appeal is anchored by its strong safety reputation and standard safety equipment. Volvo’s positioning also emphasises fuel-efficient powertrains and a premium, well-equipped cabin, which helps the XC60 feel like a thoughtfully engineered used buy.

For used shoppers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’re comfortable with a premium SUV that can be costly to keep and may not suit every family’s space needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without waiting forever for the right example.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 120 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.31% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,870 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $61,334 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,783 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the XC60 is currently giving up a bit of value in the used market, which can work in your favour if you’re buying now. For a future seller, it means you should expect resale to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than assuming the model will hold firm pricing on name recognition alone. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and present it as a clean, premium example, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.31% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a new infotainment system with a larger touchscreen and Google Gemini integration.

The bottom line: the 2025 is the better pick if you want a used XC60 with softer pricing and a decent spread of deal opportunities. If you’re more focused on newer tech and a more current cabin experience, the 2026 is worth a look; if price matters most, the 2025 remains the smarter starting point.
