Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2025 Volvo XC60 stands out as a five-passenger premium compact crossover that blends clean Scandinavian design with a strong emphasis on safety and standard equipment. Volvo positions it around safety tech, luxurious amenities, and fuel-efficient powertrains, and its long-running popularity is reflected in its status as Volvo’s best-selling vehicle. If you want a refined small SUV rather than something flashy, its restrained styling and premium feel are a big part of the appeal.

For shoppers who value safety, a premium cabin, and an understated character over maximum space or sporty driving manners, the XC60 fits that brief well. The model’s standard safety equipment remains a major strength, and its fuel-efficient four-cylinder powertrains help support its everyday appeal. 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2025 Volvo XC60’s appeal is reinforced by its strong safety reputation, and apart from the 2025 model year, it has made the IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ list since it entered North America for the 2010 model year. That long safety track record supports its image as a well-engineered premium crossover with a clear focus on occupant protection.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability than about living with a premium SUV that can be pricey to keep and may not suit everyone’s expectations for refinement in daily use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 121 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.91% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,839 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $61,423 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,266 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the XC60 is currently more buyer-friendly than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may trim upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current trend points to a market that is still holding premium value, but not at last year’s level. If you buy well today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Should I buy a 2025 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.91% compared with last year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a new infotainment system with a larger touchscreen and Google Gemini integration.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better primary target if you want a premium XC60 with softer pricing and a decent pool of listings to compare. If you’re more focused on the newest tech and a refreshed cabin experience, the 2026 is the better secondary path, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2025.
