Used 2025 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearNewmarket, ON

How much does the 2025 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 2.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 102 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 from owners and a 7.7/10 expert rating.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is aimed at you if you want a rugged, body-on-frame SUV that still feels more modern than the outgoing version. It adds more capability, power, comfort, and technology, while keeping the off-road identity that has long defined the nameplate. It is also more composed on pavement, which broadens its appeal if you split time between trails and daily driving.

The main trade-off is limited rear-seat space, so you should expect some compromise if passenger room matters a lot. The expert notes also point to a vehicle that remains very capable off-road, but still asks you to accept some truck-like character.

26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a decent sign that you can still find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is described as a more refined evolution of the familiar formula, rather than a risky reinvention. It keeps the rugged character buyers expect, while adding more capability, comfort, and technology. The expert assessment also points to Toyota’s reputation for reliability as part of the model’s appeal.

Its standard powertrain is presented as a modern turbocharged four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic, and the hybrid adds stronger low-speed usable power without abandoning the model’s core mission. Toyota also positions the new generation as quieter and more composed, which should help reduce fatigue over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is not outright durability so much as living with the model’s compromises in space and refinement if your needs are more family-focused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SR5 starts the range, while higher trims add more capability and equipment. The expert notes that the TRD Pro and Trailhunter are the most capable adventure-focused versions, and the Limited and Platinum packages add full-time 4WD.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and a Hybrid i-Force Max setup based on the same engine. The hybrid brings 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, while the standard engine is still strong and paired with an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, including frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, Proactive Driving Assist, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Proactive Driving Assist can feel intrusive, but it can be disabled.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 14-inch screen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and a charging pad is offered. A digital instrument panel is included with all Hybrid variants and in most extra-cost packages on gas models.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is estimated at 12.4 L/100 km in the city, 9.6 on the highway, and 11.2 combined. The hybrid is estimated at 10.3 L/100 km city, 9.5 highway, and 9.9 combined.

Which 2025 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 8 trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and the Hybrid i-Force Max variants.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point and the best place to start if you want the 4Runner’s core capability without paying for extra hardware you may not need.
• Limited: Choose this if you want a more road-friendly, better-equipped version, especially if full-time 4WD matters to you.
• Platinum: This is the more upscale choice in the gas lineup, and it also gets full-time 4WD.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: This is the best-value pick for many shoppers because it adds serious trail capability without jumping all the way to the most expensive adventure trims.
• TRD Pro: Pick this if you want the most capable and most impressive adventure-focused version in the range.
• Trailhunter: This is the most specialised overlanding-style model, but it also brings added wind noise from the snorkel.
• Hybrid i-Force Max: Choose this if you want the stronger low-speed power and the better fuel economy estimate from the hybrid setup.
• Hybrid i-Force Max with Trailhunter package: This is the top-end choice if you want maximum capability and are willing to pay for it.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the range, and the blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is standard in Canada.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota 4Runner?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $69,663 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $71,000 CAD sits slightly below last year's $72,896 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

The 4Runner’s strong reputation, updated capability, and broad appeal should help support demand over time. If you buy well and keep mileage and condition in check, you should have a solid chance of holding value better than many mainstream SUVs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner does not yet have crash test results from either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All 4Runner models come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced safety features that include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, and automatic high beams. It also includes Proactive Driving Assist, and in Canada you also get a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.

A key caveat is that Proactive Driving Assist could be too intrusive for many drivers, though you can disable it.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a long-awaited redesign with more capability, power, comfort, and technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $57,708 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $71,000 CAD average.
• It remains a rugged, reliable off-road SUV with plenty of cargo space.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a broader trim spread and stronger modern safety and infotainment features.
• It offers a more developed lineup with standard four-wheel drive and more specialised off-road options.

The bottom line: If you want the newest design, better refinement, and stronger all-around appeal, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is lower purchase price, the 2024 remains the value play, while the 2026 is the path if you want the most up-to-date trim and feature spread.
