Used 2025 RAM 2500 for Sale near Athens, ON

How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 11.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 339 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare trims and equipment levels.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating, the 2025 RAM 2500 looks like a strong choice if you need serious heavy-duty capability. It stands out as a meaningful upgrade to one of America’s most capable trucks, and it pairs that strength with increasing levels of luxury and refinement.

The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Its strengths are straightforward: a powerful engine, impressive towing capabilities, and excellent off-road ability. The trade-offs are just as clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and it gets expensive fast.

For shoppers who prioritise capability first and want a heavy-duty truck that feels more upscale than many rivals, this is a compelling fit. There are 33.3% good or great deals in the market, which gives you a decent chance to find a well-priced example.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is presented as a truck built around immense capability, and that matters for reliability in the real world because it’s designed to do hard work rather than light-duty commuting. The expert assessment also highlights its strong powertrain and its composed ride for a heavy-duty pickup, which supports the idea that it’s engineered to handle demanding use.

The diesel engine is described as a well-regarded unit, and the revised High Output version adds even more torque for towing and hauling. Ram also says the diesel now comes standard in High Output spec for 2025, which suggests a more robust and desirable setup for buyers who plan to keep the truck for the long haul.

If you’re buying used, the main ownership risk is that heavy-duty capability and diesel power can bring higher running costs and more expensive repairs if the truck has been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman is the entry point and can look and feel basic, while the Big Horn adds more polish. The Power Wagon and Rebel bring a more premium off-road look, and the Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited move the truck further into luxury territory. If you want the best value, the Laramie is the trim where the luxury bits really start to appear without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with an eight-speed automatic, while the revised turbocharged 6.7-litre Cummins inline-six diesel is the big upgrade for 2025 and now comes in High Output form with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are standard, but park assist sensors are not on the base Tradesman. The optional Safety Group adds adaptive steering, active lane management, automatic high beams, drowsy driver detection, and rain-sensing wipers on Tradesman and Big Horn trucks.
• Infotainment: An 8.4-inch touchscreen is standard on the two lowest trims, while a 12-inch screen is standard on Power Wagon, Rebel, and Laramie. The 14.4-inch unit is standard on the top trims, and the 12.3-inch digital cluster starts at Laramie.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need. It can be optioned up with chrome highlights, but it’s still the most basic-feeling version.
• Big Horn: This is the step up if you want a little more polish without moving too far up the price ladder. It pairs well with the optional Safety Group and other equipment packages.
• Power Wagon: This is the off-road specialist, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting sway bar. It’s the right pick if trail ability matters more than towing flexibility.
• Rebel: This is the better choice if you want off-road capability but still need to tow heavy loads regularly. It sits between the more work-oriented trims and the full luxury models.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the luxury feel into the cabin with leather seating surfaces, a 12-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster.
• Limited Longhorn: Choose this if you want the cowboy-themed interior and a more distinctive luxury presentation.
• Limited: This is the most understated luxury choice, with open-pore wood and premium leather details for buyers who want the most upscale cabin.

The Safety Group is worth considering on Tradesman and Big Horn if you want more of the active safety tech that comes standard higher up the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 339 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $79,374 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $79,374 CAD sits slightly below last year's $89,638 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favourable if you’re planning to sell soon. A softer market often means future sellers need to be more competitive on price, especially if similar trucks are widely listed.

Even so, the 2025 RAM 2500’s strong capability and upscale positioning should help it stay relevant with the buyers who need a heavy-duty truck. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 safe?

The 2025 RAM 2500 earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Ram offers a comprehensive package of modern safety technologies, but most are not standard across the board. Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are standard, while park assist sensors are included on all but the base Tradesman trim level.

An optional Safety Group can be added to Tradesman and Big Horn trucks and includes adaptive steering, active lane management, automatic high beams, drowsy driver detection, and rain-sensing wipers. Those features are standard on higher trim levels.

Ram also offers a suite of camera technologies that can be added through packages, including a surround-view camera system and a Cargo View Camera. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to move up a trim or add packages to get the full set.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 update brings a revised High Output diesel with more torque and a more refined heavy-duty feel.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a new pair of trim levels and keeps the truck feeling current.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, capability, and refinement, the 2025 is the better starting point. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2025’s softer pricing and decent deal availability make it the smarter year to target; if you want the newest trim lineup, the 2026 is worth a look.
