Used 2025 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2025 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 16.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 146 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender earns an expert rating of 7.5/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It fits you well if you want a vehicle that is built to go almost anywhere while still feeling refined enough for everyday use. The lineup’s range of body styles and powertrains gives you a lot of flexibility, and the Defender is described as rugged but refined, comfortable yet capable, and fun to drive.

The trade-offs are clear: fuel economy is poor, and handling on pavement is also poor.

That mix of strengths and compromises is reflected in the market, where 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender is presented as a capable, well-equipped SUV with a four-year/80,000-kilometre warranty and roadside assistance plan.

Its powertrain is described as robust and smooth, with the inline-six delivering power and refinement while aligning with admittedly low expectations for efficiency. The expert assessment also notes that the Defender’s off-road capability is exceptionally confidence-inspiring and that it can handle terrain many drivers would avoid in other vehicles.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a premium, complex SUV with poor fuel economy and a reputation that makes careful maintenance history worth checking closely.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Defender?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 110 four-door is described as the sweet spot for the design, while the 90 is the short two-door and the 130 is the extended four-door. The X trim adds black exterior elements, upgraded interior materials, and Land Rover’s off-roading technology as standard equipment.
• Powertrain: You can find turbocharged four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, plus turbocharged or supercharged V8 options. The tested turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder uses a mild-hybrid system, an eight-speed automatic, and standard AWD with a low-range setting.
• Safety package: The Defender includes automatic high beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Lane-centring assist is available when using adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Pivi Pro uses an 11.4-inch touchscreen, paired with a configurable digital driver display. It includes wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, and connected services such as remote engine start and emergency collision notification.
• Fuel efficiency: The tested six-cylinder returned 14.5 L/100 km on the evaluation loop, versus a Natural Resources Canada combined estimate of 13.0 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender is offered in 3 trim levels: 90, 110, and 130.

Here's the short version:

• 90: Choose this if you want the shortest, most compact Defender shape and are prioritising the two-door body style.
• 110: This is the best-value trim level for most buyers because it is the sweet spot in the lineup and balances the Defender’s rugged character with everyday usability.
• 130: Pick this if you want the most passenger and cargo space, and you can live with the larger footprint.

The safety package includes a broad set of driver aids across the lineup, with lane-centring assist available when adaptive cruise control is in use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Defender?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 146 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $83,445 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $84,112 CAD sits slightly below last year's $101,273 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers than sellers. If you own one, you may need to price competitively to stand out against similar listings. For future resale, the Defender’s broad appeal and strong capability should help, but premium SUVs can still be sensitive to mileage, condition, and equipment mix.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Defender safe?

The 2025 Land Rover Defender’s crash-test ratings were unavailable at press time.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Land Rover equips the Defender with automatic high beam headlights, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. Lane-centring assist is available when adaptive cruise control is active.

The system works in a refined manner overall, though the lane keep assist can be quite assertive, and in this test vehicle it once attempted to steer into a turnout area. That is worth keeping in mind if you prefer a more relaxed driver-assistance feel.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.95% compared with last year.
• It adds a high-performance OCTA variant and brings a strong technology showing.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $70,449 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $84,112 CAD average.
• It offers a rugged-yet-refined feel with broad appeal for buyers who want genuine off-road ability.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the latest mix of capability, technology, and body-style choice. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value path and still delivers the Defender’s core strengths.
