How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want an affordable sedan or hatchback that still feels engaging to drive. The gas-only lineup is split clearly between the LX, Sport, and Si, which makes it easier for you to shop based on whether you want everyday value or a more enthusiast-focused setup.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual transmission lacks some user-friendly features.

There are 28.7% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Civic is presented as a proven, well-rounded compact car with a refreshed package and a powertrain lineup that has been expanded for the 11th generation. Honda’s updates to the Civic’s driver-assistance systems and crash structure also point to a model that has been engineered with durability and consistency in mind.

The 2.0-litre base engine and the turbocharged Si setup both sound like established, straightforward mechanical choices rather than risky experiments. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership uncertainty if the car has been maintained properly.

If you’re shopping used, the biggest long-term risk is choosing a car that was driven hard or not serviced consistently, especially if you want the manual-transmission Si.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the value-focused choice, while the Sport adds a step up in equipment, and the Si brings the sportier look and feel. The base car gets LED headlights and daytime running lights, darker taillights, and a refreshed exterior, but the Si adds a honeycomb grille texture, special red interior accents, red seats, and a dedicated 18-inch wheel. If you want the best-value trim, the LX is the one to focus on.
• Powertrain: The LX and Sport use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT, while the Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual. The base engine is rated at 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, while the Si makes 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The Si also gets a light clutch and short-throw shifter.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics. For 2025, the collision-mitigation braking system is improved to better detect bicycles and motorcycles and to better see cross traffic from the left or right. Adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist are also updated for smoother operation. The lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive.
• Infotainment: The standard Civic gets a 7-inch touchscreen, while the Si upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen. The Si also adds Alexa Built-In, Google Built-In, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX is rated at 6.6 L/100 km combined, while the Sport is rated at 6.8 L/100 km combined. The Si is rated at 7.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the trim to choose if you want the most affordable way into the gas Civic lineup. It gives you the core Civic experience, the standard safety suite, and the best fuel economy of the group.
• Sport: Pick this if you want a little more equipment and a slightly more upscale feel without jumping to the Si’s manual-only setup. It sits between the LX and the Si in price and character.
• Civic Si: This is the best choice if you want the most engaging Civic in the gas lineup. It adds the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, larger touchscreen, Bose audio, wireless smartphone projection, and the digital instrument cluster. It’s the clear pick for driving enthusiasts.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 641 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,473 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $30,092 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,314 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you’re buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. A lower entry price today can help support demand, especially for shoppers who are comparing the Civic against pricier compact alternatives.

The Civic’s broad appeal should help it remain easy to resell, particularly if you choose a well-equipped trim or a clean, well-maintained example. Strong demand for the model and its reputation for satisfaction both support long-term value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the system includes an improved collision-mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The braking system is better able to detect bicycles and motorcycles, and it also improves visibility of cross traffic from either side. The lane-keeping assist has been updated for smoother performance, but it can still feel a bit aggressive.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda’s 2025 update adds improved safety tech and a clearer gas-model lineup.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,812 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $30,092 CAD average.
• It offers a proven, enthusiast-focused Civic Si package with a manual transmission.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $33,044 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $30,092 CAD average.
• It carries over the Civic formula with broad body-style and powertrain choice.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, updated safety tech, and strong market availability, the 2025 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value play. If you want to compare against a newer carryover model and don’t mind paying more, the 2026 is the alternative to watch.
