Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2025 Honda Civic stands out as a mid-cycle refresh that adds subtle but meaningful updates to an already well-regarded compact car. It remains a practical choice, and the lineup now offers more variety in how you can configure it.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual is lacking some user-friendly features. For you, that means the Civic makes the most sense if you want an everyday compact car with a broader range of versions, including one aimed at driving enthusiasts.

There are 33.0% of listings priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Honda Civic is described as a familiar, well-rounded compact car that has aged with remarkable grace. Honda’s updates for this model year also broaden the lineup without straying far from the formula that made the Civic appealing in the first place.

Its powertrain and chassis tuning are presented as satisfying and rewarding to drive, while the refreshed model year adds a little more breadth to the range. Honda also improved key driver-assistance systems for smoother operation, which supports confidence in day-to-day use.

The Civic Si’s manual setup is straightforward and user-friendly overall, though it does omit some convenience features that some drivers may want. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s core competence and more about choosing the version that best matches your expectations for comfort and convenience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only Civic is offered in LX and Sport trims or as the Civic Si. The LX and Sport are the more straightforward everyday choices, while the Si adds a sportier look and more distinctive cabin treatment, but the rear-seat styling is less cohesive than the front.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and a CVT, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual. The Si is the enthusiast pick, but it is also stiffer than the base Civic.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics. It includes an improved collision-mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist, though the lane-keeping system can still feel a bit aggressive.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Alexa Built-In, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. Lower trims get wired smartphone projection instead.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 7.3 L/100 km city, 5.7 highway, and 6.6 combined. The Civic Si is rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.4 highway, and 7.7 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the best-value choice if you want the most affordable way into the refreshed Civic lineup and prefer a simple, efficient daily driver.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a bit more equipment and a slightly richer feel without moving all the way up to the Si.
• Civic Si: This is the enthusiast pick, with the strongest performance focus, the best tech content, and the most distinctive character in the gas-only lineup.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety package no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 788 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.82% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,025 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $29,025 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,833 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about where the market has settled. If prices remain near the current average, resale values should stay anchored by the Civic’s broad appeal and strong demand.

The Civic’s mix of practicality, refreshed lineup breadth, and strong owner satisfaction should help it remain attractive on the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the system includes an improved collision-mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. Honda also updated the system for smoother operation, and the on-board Google Maps can project directions into the driver-information display.

One caveat is that lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive, with steering-wheel vibration that may bother you on longer drives.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda divides the Civic lineup by powertrain, giving you a clearer choice between everyday trims and the Si.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,441 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $29,025 CAD average.
• It focuses on enthusiast driving with a manual transmission and strong fuel economy.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $32,617 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $29,025 CAD average.
• It carries over the refreshed Civic formula with broad body-style and powertrain choice.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, refreshed content, and broad trim choice, the 2025 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value play; if you want a newer carryover with no major changes, the 2026 is the pricier alternative.
