Is the 2023 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Honda Civic earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its comfort, fuel efficiency, roomy interior, and strong performance, and the model’s overview also highlights its everyday usability and driving appeal. If you want a compact car that feels practical without giving up refinement, this Civic fits that brief well. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans toward dependable day-to-day ownership, with repeated praise for comfort, fuel efficiency, and a trouble-free feel in regular use. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you plan to keep the car for years rather than just a short stint. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about reliability and more about finding the right trim and feature set for the price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop with a clear target and be ready to move on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,125 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.36% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,623 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,623 CAD sits slightly below last year's $28,583 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Civic has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. Because the model still draws strong owner satisfaction and broad shopper interest, demand should remain healthy in the used market. If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the car well, you should be in a better position when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $23,626 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $25,623 CAD average.
• The redesign brought fresh engineering and technology.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,554 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $25,623 CAD average.
• It adds a more performance-focused, enthusiast-oriented setup.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want strong owner satisfaction, good market availability, and a price that has already moved down from last year. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play; if you want a more enthusiast-focused Civic, the 2024 is the better fit.
