This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings.

If you find a listing below $91,614 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $91,645 CAD sits slightly below last year's $100,624 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale will depend on how well the market absorbs heavy-duty trucks at this price level. If demand stays steady, the current discount could help support a more manageable ownership cost over time. Well-equipped trims may appeal to a narrower but more committed buyer pool, which can help when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $77,504 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $91,645 CAD average.
• It centres on serious capability with a distinctly upscale feel.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the broader trim range and premium-heavy-duty feel, especially if you value the newer market context and can find a well-priced listing. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2024 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the current year by a meaningful margin.
