Is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a heavy-duty pickup built around serious capability rather than car-like comfort. It stands out for huge towing and payload numbers, broad configuration choices, and a trailering-focused feature set that suits buyers who need to move large trailers or heavy equipment.

Its appeal is strongest if you put function first and want a truck with strong towing technology, useful cargo features, and a wide range of work-ready setups. 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent amount of market choice.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a purpose-built heavy-duty truck with two V8 engine choices and an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission. The overview also points to a strong utility focus, with features such as 12 cargo tie-downs, the Multi-Flex Tailgate, and detailed camera views to help with trailering and manoeuvring.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the truck’s mission and more about verifying how each example was equipped and used, since some trucks from this era may have been built without features they might otherwise have received.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 135 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $80,037 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $80,768 CAD sits slightly below last year's $98,221 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, configuration, and how well the truck was equipped from new.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.77% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 Silverado 3500HD makes the most sense if you want the current-year truck with strong towing capability, broad configuration flexibility, and a market that is softer than it was a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2025 is the better starting point if you want to focus on deal availability and current inventory.
