Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD stands out as a heavy-duty pickup built around serious capability rather than car-like comfort. It offers huge capability, a wide choice of cab and bed combinations, and a strong list of available features that make a very large truck easier to live with.

For you, that means it makes the most sense if you need a truck for very large trailers or heavy loads and want a broad range of configurations to match work demands. It is not the plushest option in the class, and the cabins have been criticised as too basic compared with some rivals, but it delivers the kind of durability and towing-focused engineering heavy-duty shoppers are looking for.

With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a competitively priced example.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a heavy-duty truck built around durability and towing-focused engineering. Its appeal is straightforward: huge capability, a broad range of configurations, and available technology that helps make a very large truck easier to live with.

For you as a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck used for demanding work may have seen hard service, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 159 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $66,961 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $68,614 CAD sits slightly below last year's $70,934 CAD.

For a future seller, that points to a market that has eased rather than surged, so you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and configuration. If you keep the truck well maintained and avoid heavy wear, you are in a better position to hold value in a segment where capability and equipment matter a lot to buyers.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.27% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with serious capability and a broad range of configurations, the 2023 Silverado 3500HD is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar truck offers the equipment you need at a lower asking price.
