Is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a strong choice if you need a heavy-duty pickup built around serious capability rather than car-like polish. Its appeal is centred on major towing and payload numbers, including up to 16,300 kilograms of towing and up to 3,300 kilograms of payload when properly configured.

It also gives you a useful mix of powertrain and work-focused features, including a standard 6.6-litre gas V8, an available Duramax turbodiesel V8, an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, and trailering technology designed to make manoeuvring a large truck easier. If your priority is hard-use capability, that clear purpose is a major advantage.

42.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a meaningful share of the market to shop from.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a purpose-built heavy-duty truck with a straightforward focus on capability, which can be a plus if you want a vehicle designed for demanding work. Its powertrain and utility setup is centred on proven hardware, including the gas V8, the available Duramax turbodiesel V8, and the Allison ten-speed automatic transmission.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this kind of truck is often bought for hard use, so condition and maintenance history matter a great deal.

• Inventory: There are 149 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.03% compared with last year.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $79,951 CAD sits slightly below last year's $95,209 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more competition if values stay soft. If you buy well now, you may have less downside than someone who paid closer to last year's average. For resale, condition, mileage, and configuration will matter even more in a truck like this.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 42.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.03% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want a heavy-duty Silverado with strong capability and a market that currently favours buyers. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2025 already looks attractive if you can find one near the lower end of the current range.
