How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns an 7.67/10 expert rating, and its redesign gives you a more truck-inspired look, new standard tech, and new safety features.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It also brings a sub-$30k base price, which helps its value proposition stand out in the compact crossover class. The trade-offs are a small cargo compartment for the class and a finicky voice assistant, and even the ACTIV trim is described as having minimal off-road capability. Overall, it suits you if you want a practical compact SUV with a stronger sense of style and more standard equipment. 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is presented as a practical, well-equipped compact SUV with a redesigned cabin and a strong standard feature set, which supports confidence for everyday use.

Its single engine is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, and the eight-speed automatic in AWD versions is described as an improvement over the old six-speed because it moves more quickly through the gears and makes less noise overall. The ride is also described as fairly quiet and comfortable outside of harder acceleration. Standard wireless smartphone projection, Chevy Safety Assist, and Teen Driver Technology add to the sense that the Equinox is built to be easy to live with.

You also get standard wireless smartphone projection and a broad set of standard safety features, which can reduce the hassle of ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the small engine may feel strained when you regularly ask it to merge, pass, or tow.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT is the starting point and comes with 17-inch wheels, while the RS adds black mirrors and badges, a larger grille opening, red RS emblems, and standard 19-inch wheels. The ACTIV brings a different look with dark chrome, simpler grille inserts, 17-inch wheels, and all-terrain tires. If you want the best value, the LT is the one to focus on first because it already includes the core equipment you’re likely shopping for.
• Powertrain: You get a single 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. FWD LT models use a CVT, while AWD versions use an eight-speed automatic. AWD versions can tow up to 680 kilograms, while FWD models are limited to 360 kilograms.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes enhanced automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic high beams, rear park assist, and side blind-zone alert. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.
• Infotainment: The standard touchscreen is 11.3 inches, and Google Built-In is standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard too, along with Wi-Fi hotspot capability and a six-speaker audio system. Wireless charging is standard on RS and ACTIV, and available on LT.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the provided data.

• RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look, standard AWD, larger 19-inch wheels, and the more distinctive black-and-red interior treatment. It also gets standard wireless charging.
• ACTIV: Pick this if you prefer the more adventure-flavoured styling, all-terrain tyres, and the unique Maple Sugar and Black interior theme. It also comes with standard AWD and wireless charging.

The available Safety & Technology package can be added to any trim.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 556 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.20% compared with last year.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $34,376 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,150 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has become more attractive to used buyers than it was a year ago. For you as a buyer, that can translate into better negotiating room today, especially if a listing is priced near the low end of the range.

The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.20% compared with last year.
• The redesign brings new standard tech and safety features, plus a more truck-inspired look.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $36,693 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $34,376 CAD average.
• It adds a standard drive mode selector.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2025 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with a fresh redesign and strong standard equipment. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2025 also gives you more room to shop the market and find a deal without giving up the core features that matter.
