Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

It focuses on space, comfort, and a more polished cabin rather than flashy performance, and it adds useful everyday technology such as a digital instrument display, Google Built-in, and a colour touchscreen infotainment system. Is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox is positioned as a practical, comfort-focused compact SUV with a polished cabin and a strong safety package, which can make it an appealing used buy if those priorities matter most to you. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that you should still inspect any used example carefully for wear, maintenance history, and overall condition before committing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 462 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,228 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $27,336 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,545 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale expectations more conservative if you buy now. For a future seller, that means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. The Equinox's practical layout and comfort-first appeal should still help it stay relevant with used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $24,994 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $27,336 CAD average.
• It adds modest updates while staying comfort-focused and value-oriented.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $34,376 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,336 CAD average.
• It brings a redesigned look with more standard tech and safety features.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around path if you want a well-equipped, comfort-first compact SUV at a softened market price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest design and added equipment, the 2025 is the upgrade to compare.
