It stands out as a premium compact crossover with clean Scandinavian design, a strong emphasis on safety and technology, and a polished cabin. You also get a well-equipped package with standard leather upholstery, heated front seats, LED headlights, and a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while available upgrades add luxury and convenience. Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2024 XC60’s reliability appeal comes from its safety-first design, standard equipment, and the way Volvo positions the model around confidence and everyday usability. Its safety systems and well-finished cabin support the impression of a thoughtfully engineered luxury SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium vehicle with advanced features can be more expensive to maintain if you want to keep everything working as intended.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 221 listings available.

What is the 2024 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $46,527 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,162 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it can also mean future sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The XC60’s premium positioning and strong safety reputation should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value a refined compact luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,826 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $46,527 CAD average.
• It offers a practical plug-in hybrid setup that helps you try electric-only driving without giving up gasoline backup.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a strong mix of safety, technology, and premium feel. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if its plug-in hybrid strengths fit your driving routine.
