Used 2024 Toyota RAV4 for Sale near British Columbia

How much does the 2024 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have softened 3.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,037 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spacious interior, and useful features, and many also like the large touchscreen and advanced tech. The model’s practical, dependable character and long-term usefulness come through clearly in owner feedback.

The trade-offs are that it can feel noisy and dull to drive, and the safety ratings are not a highlight. For you, that means the RAV4 makes the most sense if you value everyday utility, versatility, and a family-friendly layout over driving excitement.

With 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still a meaningful share of attractive inventory to consider.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, trouble-free, and well suited to long-term ownership. The expert assessment also reinforces that impression by describing the gas powertrain as having a reputation for bulletproof dependability.

Toyota’s complimentary connected-services trial adds some ownership value, and the model’s longstanding reputation for reliability is a real plus if you plan to keep your SUV for years.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is age-related wear as this generation nears the end of its run.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin gets nicer as you move up the range, and the base version is more utility-focused than upscale. If you want a more refined feel, look for trims with the contrast-colour interior choices and the available digital rear-view mirror.
• Powertrain: The gas model uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic. It is strong for the class, but it needs revs to deliver maximum output and can sound loud and unrefined.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, along with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The system includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assist, though the lane-centring can be a bit lazy and the braking can be overly cautious.
• Infotainment: The Toyota Audio Multimedia system includes an 8-inch touchscreen, with a 10.5-inch screen available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with SiriusXM satellite radio and connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The gas RAV4 is rated at 8.5 L/100 km combined, while the LE model is slightly lower at 7.9 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the value-focused choice if you want the lowest entry point and the slightly better fuel-consumption figure mentioned in the expert review. It gives you the essentials without pushing the price up.
• XLE: This is the sensible middle-ground pick if you want a better-equipped RAV4 without jumping to the top of the range. It should suit most shoppers who want a balanced mix of features and value.
• XLE Premium: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It is the better fit if cabin presentation matters more to you than keeping costs down.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich choice, and it is the one to consider if you want the nicest interior and the most premium equipment in the gas lineup.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the expert review notes that the system is adequate rather than class-leading.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,037 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,220 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $37,041 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,464 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make future resale expectations more conservative if you buy today. If prices continue to ease, a seller may need to be more competitive to stand out.

Even so, the RAV4’s broad appeal and reputation for reliability should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2024 RAV4 does not qualify for the latest Top Safety Pick award from IIHS, and it earns a Marginal rating in the small overlap frontal-impact crash test and an Acceptable rating in the side-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard equipment.

The main caveat is that the safety performance is not a strong point for this model year, and the expert review specifically calls out the age of the design and engineering as a likely factor.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 keeps the RAV4 formula focused on practicality, dependability, and broad trim and drivetrain choice.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,450 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,041 CAD average.
• It is a well-rounded compact crossover with updated infotainment and a solid, dependable family-friendly character.

The bottom line: If you want the current-year RAV4 and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2024 is the straightforward choice. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value path and still delivers the core RAV4 strengths.
