Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale near Thornhill, ON

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 14.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 97 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It remains a practical choice for you if you want a sedan with an attractive starting price, standard safety technology, and easy-to-use technology. The 2024 model also stands out for standard all-wheel drive in Canada and an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is pedestrian, and material quality is unimpressive.

With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is presented as a familiar, time-tested sedan that has changed only subtly in recent years, which can be reassuring if you prefer a straightforward ownership experience. Its naturally aspirated 2.5-litre engine and continuously variable transmission are described as adequate and well managed, and the all-wheel-drive system is tuned for everyday traction rather than complexity.

Nissan’s three-year, 60,000-kilometre limited warranty and five-year, 100,000-kilometre limited powertrain warranty add some ownership protection. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the cabin materials and drivetrain refinement may feel less durable or satisfying than the rest of the package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the value play, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The base S misses the wireless phone charger, the larger touchscreen, NissanConnect, and ProPilot Assist, so you should check whether those features matter to you.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. It is adequate rather than exciting, and the CVT can drone under harder acceleration.
• Safety package: ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S. Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. The Platinum trim adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition, while SR Premium also gets traffic-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Most Canadian Altimas use an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SR Premium and Platinum get a 12.3-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available only with the larger screen, and NissanConnect is standard on SR Premium and Platinum.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima is estimated at 9.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.5 on the highway, and 7.9 combined. Upper trims with larger wheels are slightly higher.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value trim if you want the lowest entry price and still want standard AWD, core safety tech, and the Altima’s practical everyday character. It is the trim to target if you care most about value.
• SR: Choose this if you want a step up in appearance and equipment without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims. It keeps the Altima’s core strengths while moving you closer to a more polished ownership experience.
• SR Premium: This is the sweet spot if you want the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone projection, and NissanConnect. It adds the most meaningful tech upgrade.
• Platinum: Pick this if you want the most fully equipped Altima, including the 12.3-inch screen, NissanConnect, traffic-sign recognition, and the 360-degree surround-view monitor.

ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, so that is the main safety-package trim note to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 97 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,606 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $26,606 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,086 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Altima is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier for future owners to enter the market at a lower cost. If you buy now, you may benefit from that depreciation already being reflected in asking prices. For a future seller, the challenge is that the model’s value is tied more to practicality and pricing than to strong emotional appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also scores four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Altima comes with a strong standard ADAS suite that includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, and Platinum adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition, with traffic-sign recognition also included on SR Premium.

The main caveat is that the 2024 model has not matched the earlier Top Safety Pick+ result earned by the 2022 Altima, due to poor performance in IIHS’s updated side-impact test.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard AWD in Canada with an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,226 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,606 CAD average.
• It offers practical value, standard AWD, and a strong set of standard features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds a 2025 SR Premium trim to renew interest in the lineup.
• It leans on comfort, styling, and standard AWD for buyers who still want a sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing, standard AWD, and familiar features, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive alternative.
