Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale nearToronto, ON

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 14.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 112 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It stands out as a sensible choice in a shrinking midsize-sedan market, with an attractive starting price, standard safety technology, easy-to-use technology, and standard all-wheel drive in Canada. It is comfortable and straightforward to live with, which makes it a practical fit if you want a familiar sedan rather than an SUV.

The trade-offs are that its performance is pedestrian and its material quality is unimpressive. The Bose stereo is also lacking.

With 36.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is presented as a familiar, time-tested option in a dwindling sedan market, and its standard all-wheel drive adds everyday practicality for Canadian buyers. Its powertrain is described as adequate and its continuously variable transmission manages power well, which supports a low-drama ownership experience.

The Altima also comes with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre limited warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre limited powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a well-used example may feel dated and less refined than newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum trims differ most in equipment, with the base S missing the wireless phone charger and ProPilot Assist.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with adequate performance, standard AWD in Canada, and a CVT that can drone under harder acceleration.
• Safety package: ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, and the standard ADAS suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.
• Infotainment: Most models use an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SR Premium and Platinum get a 12.3-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus NissanConnect on SR Premium and Platinum.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima is estimated at 9.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.9 L/100 km combined, with slightly higher figures on upper trims with larger wheels.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and standard AWD, but you give up ProPilot Assist and some convenience features.
• SR: This trim adds a bit more style and keeps the Altima’s core strengths intact, making it a sensible middle-ground choice.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone projection, and NissanConnect without jumping all the way to the top model.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped Altima, including the 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition.

ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 112 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,647 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $25,666 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,908 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Altima easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you purchase at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong value positioning can help keep demand steady, especially for shoppers focused on practicality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also scores four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist comes standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, while the Platinum trim adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition, and SR Premium also gets traffic-sign recognition.

The Altima does not receive the same IIHS recognition as the 2022 model because of poor performance in the organisation’s updated side-impact test.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard AWD with a strong safety-tech package and an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,113 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,666 CAD average.
• It offers practical value with standard AWD and strong standard features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds an SR Premium trim and keeps the Altima relevant with standard AWD and a competitive trim walk.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, standard AWD, and modern safety tech, the 2024 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better price-first alternative.
