Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearSaskatoon, SK

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have softened 10.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 426 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It is aimed at more outdoorsy customers, and its rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive, and classy interior design give it a clear identity in the compact crossover class. At the same time, the CX-50 is not especially charismatic, and its performance is fairly pedestrian.

Cons: Fairly pedestrian performance and poor value for money are the main trade-offs, and the Meridian Edition can be noisy.

For shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more upscale feel and a bit more visual presence, it makes sense. 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-50 is described as a practical daily driver, and Mazda’s Canadian warranty coverage is better than average for drivers who rack up kilometres quickly. The three-year new vehicle warranty and five-year powertrain warranty, both without mileage limits, add peace of mind for used buyers.

Its standard all-wheel drive and straightforward mechanical setup should help keep ownership predictable, while the available turbo engine and all-terrain-oriented Meridian Edition add complexity only if you choose those versions. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying extra for a model that may not feel especially rewarding if you do not need its rugged styling.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: GS-L, GT, and Meridian Edition are the three trims. GS-L is the entry point with 17-inch wheels, while GT adds 20-inch wheels and a more upscale equipment set. Meridian Edition is the most outdoorsy-looking version, with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim.
• Powertrain: Every CX-50 uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. The base engine makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while turbo models increase output to 256 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane fuel or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87-octane fuel.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: A 10.25-inch infotainment screen is standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is controlled by a rotary controller and buttons rather than a touchscreen, and higher trims add wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 8.9 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 9.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 3 trim levels: GS-L, GT, and Meridian Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GS-L: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you standard all-wheel drive, the 10.25-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full standard safety suite. If you want the lowest entry price and the core CX-50 experience, this is the trim to start with.
• GT: This trim adds a more upscale feel with 20-inch wheels and the higher-end equipment that comes with the upper part of the range. It suits you if you want a more polished daily driver without going all the way to the most specialised version.
• Meridian Edition: This is the best fit if the CX-50’s rugged styling is the main reason you are shopping it. The all-terrain tires, black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim give it the strongest outdoorsy look, but the content also notes extra noise and no suspension or drive-mode changes to improve off-road capability.

The standard safety package is strong across the range, while the optional 360-degree camera and other advanced features are worth seeking out if you want the most complete setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on well-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 426 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,438 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $37,438 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,681 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-50 has become more approachable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. The current market shows that shoppers are still willing to pay for the CX-50’s styling and standard all-wheel drive, but not at the same level they were a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it received five-star frontal crash-test and four-star rollover crash-test ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Optional equipment includes emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system.

The main caveat is that the standard headlights were only rated “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash-prevention result was the lowest “Basic” score.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive, and upscale interior that define the CX-50.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,575 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,438 CAD average.
• It offers a stylish, adventure-focused design with practical rear-seat room and cargo space.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,888 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,438 CAD average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain that improves efficiency and broadens the CX-50’s appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the current model-year balance of rugged styling, standard AWD, and a softer used-market price, the 2024 is the sensible pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value path; if you want improved efficiency and can spend more, the 2025 is the upgrade to watch.
