Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearNanaimo, BC

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have softened 10.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 425 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for shoppers comparing options.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a small crossover SUV that leans more rugged than most rivals while still working as a practical daily driver. The stylish design, standard all-wheel drive, and classy interior design give it a more upscale feel than many mainstream alternatives.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and value for money is a weak point. That makes it a better fit if you want a compact SUV with visual presence and a more outdoorsy identity than if you’re chasing the most engaging drive or the lowest purchase price.

Only 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than broadly bargain-heavy.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive and straightforward 2.5-litre four-cylinder setup point to a simple, familiar ownership experience. Mazda’s Canadian warranty coverage is also better than average for drivers who put on a lot of kilometres, with a three-year new vehicle warranty and a five-year powertrain warranty, both without mileage limits.

Its performance is described as well-mannered for everyday use, and the standard drivetrain avoids the complexity of a more elaborate setup. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the model’s weaker value proposition may make it harder to justify if you want maximum equipment for the money.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: GS-L trim vehicles get 17-inch wheels, while the GT adds 20-inch wheels and the Meridian Edition adds all-terrain tyres on 18-inch wheels, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim. The Meridian Edition also brings an earthy colour palette and Terracotta leather upholstery, while the base model’s manually adjustable passenger seat is a reminder of its more mainstream positioning.
• Powertrain: All CX-50 models use a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with turbocharging on higher trim levels. The standard engine makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while turbo models increase output and add towing capacity.
• Safety package: Mazda’s standard driver-assist suite includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: A 10.25-inch infotainment screen is standard, but it is not a touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and higher trim levels add wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base non-turbo engine is rated at 8.9 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 9.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 3 trim levels: GS-L, GT, and Meridian Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GS-L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-50 formula with standard all-wheel drive, the 10.25-inch display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standard safety suite. It makes the most sense if you want the CX-50’s style and capability without paying for extras you may not need.
• GT: This trim adds 20-inch wheels and more convenience and tech content, making it the better-value choice if you want a more polished feel without jumping to the most expensive version.
• Meridian Edition: This is the most rugged-looking version, with all-terrain tyres, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced exterior trim. It suits you best if the CX-50’s outdoorsy image is the main reason you want one.

The standard safety package is strong across the range, while some advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare listings carefully before you commit.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 425 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,176 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $37,176 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,585 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-50 has moved into a more buyer-friendly position, which can help future sellers if they bought at the right time. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to the high end. The model’s rugged styling and standard all-wheel drive should help it stay appealing to shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more distinctive look.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it received five-star frontal crash-test and four-star rollover crash-test ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.

A key caveat is that the standard headlights were only rated “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash-prevention result was “Basic.”

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines rugged styling with standard all-wheel drive and a classy interior.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,293 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,176 CAD average.
• It offers a stylish, adventure-focused design with more engaging personality.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,742 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,176 CAD average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain for better efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing and the CX-50’s rugged character, the 2024 is the sensible pick. If your priority is lower upfront cost, the 2023 is the better value; if efficiency matters most, the 2025 is the stronger upgrade path.
