Used 2024 Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 8.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,062 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Mazda positions it as an SUV for active urbanites, and that fits the CX-5 well: you get stylish design, excellent outward visibility, a comfortable cabin, commendable quality, and strong safety credentials. It is also genuinely enjoyable to drive, which helps it stand out in a crowded compact-crossover field.

The main trade-offs are that fuel economy can be poor in Turbo models, cargo space is limited, and the technology feels dated. If you want a polished, engaging SUV more than maximum practicality or the newest infotainment, the CX-5 makes a strong case for itself.

22.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which points to a reasonably active market with some value opportunities.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-5’s appeal comes from steady refinement rather than dramatic change, and that consistency is part of its reliability story. Mazda has improved the interior, drivetrain, suspension, and safety equipment over time, and the result is a crossover that feels well sorted and mature.

Its powertrain and chassis tuning also support confidence behind the wheel. The turbocharged engine delivers strong output, the standard all-wheel drive adds year-round usability, and the SUV’s composed road manners suggest a vehicle engineered for everyday durability.

Mazda also includes useful ownership conveniences such as remote engine starting and automatic 911 dialing through Mazda Connected Services. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the CX-5’s ageing technology and Turbo fuel consumption may be more frustrating over time than its core mechanical package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes GS, GX, Kuro, GT, Sport Design, Suna, and Signature. The base versions get the core safety equipment and standard all-wheel drive, while higher trims add features such as adaptive headlights, traffic sign recognition, a surround-view camera, parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking. If you want the most complete feature set, the Signature sits at the top.
• Powertrain: You can shop the base 2.5-litre four-cylinder or the 2.5 Turbo. The turbocharged engine delivers stronger output, but it is also the version most associated with poor fuel economy.
• Safety package: Mazda equips every CX-5 with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add more advanced hardware, while the Signature gets the most comprehensive safety suite.
• Infotainment: The CX-5 uses a 10.25-inch display, and several trims add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mazda also offers touchscreen operation for those smartphone platforms while driving, though the native interface still leans heavily on the centre-console controller.
• Fuel efficiency: The Turbo is rated at 9.8 L/100 km in combined driving, while the base engine is rated at 9.3 L/100 km combined, or 8.5 L/100 km with cylinder deactivation.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 7 trim levels: GS, GX, Kuro, GT, Sport Design, Suna, and Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point if you want the CX-5’s core strengths at the lowest price, including standard all-wheel drive and the full set of standard driver-assistance features.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday comfort and convenience without pushing you into the highest price brackets.
• Kuro: Choose this if you want a more distinctive appearance and a step up in presentation over the lower trims.
• GT: This is a strong middle-ground choice if you want a more upscale feel and more available equipment without going all the way to the top.
• Sport Design: Pick this if styling matters and you want a more premium-looking CX-5 with a stronger visual presence.
• Suna: This is the most distinctive trim in the lineup, with exclusive Zircon Sand paint, Terracotta leather seats with black artificial suede inserts, a black headliner, the Turbo engine, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Bose premium sound system.
• Signature: This is the trim to buy if you want the most complete CX-5, including the most advanced safety hardware such as the driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

Safety-related upgrades include adaptive headlights and traffic sign recognition on higher trims, while the Signature gets the most advanced driver-assistance hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, with some room to find value if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 22.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,062 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,645 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $32,665 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,754 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests the CX-5 has already absorbed some of its recent value adjustment. For a future seller, that can mean less downside risk if you buy near the current market average and keep the vehicle in strong condition.

The model’s premium-feeling cabin, strong safety reputation, and broad appeal should help support demand over time. At the same time, the ageing technology and limited cargo space may keep resale growth more restrained than on newer rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The Mazda CX-5 has earned a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the past, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives it five-star ratings across the board, except for a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda equips every CX-5 with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add adaptive headlights and traffic sign recognition, while the Signature gets a driver monitoring system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and automatic reverse braking.

The standard driver-assistance package is strong, and the lane departure and lane keeping systems are especially well judged. The main caveat is that the CX-5 did not earn the Top Safety Pick designation in 2024, even though its underlying ratings remain strong.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 22.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Mazda’s continuous refinement keeps the CX-5 stylish, polished, and enjoyable to drive.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,279 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $32,665 CAD average.
• It remains appealing, polished, and familiar, with no major changes beyond a paint option.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $34,230 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $32,665 CAD average.
• It keeps the sporty, upscale formula while leaning into practicality and driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2024 is the primary target. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative, the 2025 is worth a look.
