How much does the 2024 Lexus RX cost?

Is the 2024 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The RX is aimed at you if you want a luxury crossover that prioritises comfort, refinement, and efficiency over excitement. Its cabin is quiet, and it leans into relaxed daily driving rather than sporty engagement.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not as exciting to drive as rivals, and some interior materials feel cheap.

With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is decent market flexibility if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX is presented as a comfort- and refinement-focused luxury SUV, and its overall positioning supports that reputation. The expert assessment also points to a calm, quiet cabin and a model line that prioritises ease of ownership over flashier ambitions.

Its performance is described as fairly pedestrian, but the powertrains are tuned for smooth, everyday use rather than drama. The hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions add efficiency, which can be appealing if you want to reduce fuel stops.

If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing the right version for your needs, since some trims trade value and performance for efficiency or price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The higher-priced packages add faux suede inserts in the seats, doors, and roof pillars, plus a larger 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. The base setup is more modest, so you should check whether the features you want are standard or reserved for pricier versions.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the RX 350h hybrid uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 246 hp and 233 lb-ft. The RX 500h F Sport Performance is the strongest option at 366 hp and 406 lb-ft, and the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid adds an 18.1-kWh battery and up to 60 kilometres of electric range.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors. A head-up display, digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, semi-automated parking system, and highway driving assist are available.
• Infotainment: Lower-priced versions get a 9.8-inch touchscreen, while higher-end models use a 14-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports cloud-based navigation with a three-year free trial.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 is estimated at 9.9 L/100 km combined, the RX 350h at 6.5 L/100 km combined, the RX 500h at 8.6 L/100 km combined, and the RX 450h+ at 2.8 litres-equivalent per 100 kilometres combined.

Which 2024 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h F Sport Performance, RX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RX experience with standard AWD, the turbocharged 2.4-litre engine, and the quiet, comfort-first character the model is known for.
• RX 350h: This is the best-value choice for most buyers because it adds a major fuel-economy advantage while keeping the RX’s relaxed luxury feel.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: Choose this if you want the most power in the lineup and a more performance-oriented RX, though the model still prioritises comfort over true sportiness.
• RX 450h+: This is the priciest option, and it makes sense if you can charge regularly and want the longest electric-only driving capability.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, so you do not need to move up the range just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,507 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $55,507 CAD sits slightly below last year's $62,611 CAD.

That price movement suggests the RX has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand in the near term. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if the market stays soft.

The RX’s comfort-focused reputation and strong efficiency should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a refined luxury SUV without chasing performance. That said, resale strength will still depend on trim, condition, and how well your asking price matches the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX safe?

The 2024 Lexus RX earns five-star ratings in overall and side collision protection and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests from NHTSA. It was also awarded a Top Safety Pick by IIHS, though it received a Poor rating in the new moderate frontal overlap test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the range, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors. Available upgrades include a head-up display, digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, semi-automated parking, and highway driving assist with adaptive cruise and lane centring.

The main caveat is that some systems can be tuned conservatively, which may lead to unnecessary warnings, and the parking alerts can become noisy in tight spaces.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 RX combines comfort, efficiency, and standard safety equipment in a well-rounded package.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,926 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $55,507 CAD average.
• The 2023 RX adds meaningful upgrades while staying true to the model’s refined, modern luxury focus.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market value, comfort, and efficiency, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the smarter budget-conscious alternative.
