Used 2024 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearCreston, BC

How much does the 2024 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 15.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 191 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from users and 7.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

The Defender fits buyers who want genuine off-road ability without giving up a premium image, and the 2024 model adds more features and wider V8 availability. Its strengths are clear in its rugged-yet-refined character, broad body-style and trim choice, and strong standard equipment.

The main trade-offs are that handling is more cumbersome than most luxury SUVs and fuel economy is below average. Even so, the lineup’s versatility and capability make it appealing if you want one SUV to cover daily use and tougher terrain.

33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a healthy sign of market opportunity.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Defender’s reputation is built around durability, capability, and a design meant for demanding conditions. The 2024 model also brings a long list of standard interior and safety features, which supports everyday usability and reduces the sense that you are buying something stripped down.

Its powertrain range is broad, and the available engines are described as strong and capable, which is a good sign for buyers who want a vehicle that can handle both highway driving and harder use. The 4-year/80,000-kilometre limited warranty also adds some reassurance for early ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its premium hardware and complex capability can mean higher running costs if maintenance is deferred.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim includes 19-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, partial leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, and a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel. Higher trims add more distinctive styling, larger wheels, digital rearview mirror camera tech, partial Windsor leather upholstery, and in the V8, leather and microsuede upholstery.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder, a mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six, or supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engines. The six-cylinder and V8 versions are the stronger choices, and all engines use an eight-speed automatic with full-time active four-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system. The lane-departure and lane-keeping intervention can feel overly touchy.
• Infotainment: The Defender uses a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and an 11.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD radio, and a 10-speaker Meridian sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration returns 12.9 L/100 km city, 10.8 highway, and 12.0 combined. The base four-cylinder returns 13.1 city, 11.4 highway, and 12.3 combined. The six-cylinder in the 110 returns 13.8 city, 11.6 highway, and 12.8 combined. The least efficient version returns 16.4 city, 12.7 highway, and 14.7 combined.

Which 2024 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2024 Land Rover Defender is offered in 5 trim levels: S, X-Dynamic SE, X, V8, and Outbound.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Defender experience without chasing extras. You still get a strong standard equipment list, including heated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, and the Meridian audio system.
• X-Dynamic SE: This trim adds more distinctive styling inside and out, making it a good choice if you want a more upscale look without jumping straight to the top end.
• X: This is the trim to target if you want more of the Defender’s capability and convenience upgrades, including 22-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror camera, and partial Windsor leather upholstery.
• V8: Choose this if performance matters most. It brings the most powerful engine option and a more premium upholstery treatment.
• Outbound: This is the one to consider if you want the Defender 130’s extra cargo space and do not need the third row.

The safety package is extensive across the lineup, but the lane-departure and lane-keeping intervention can feel overly sensitive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 191 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,411 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $70,449 CAD sits slightly below last year's $83,529 CAD.

That price drop suggests buyers have more negotiating room today than they did a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean you may need to price competitively if the market stays soft.

The Defender’s premium positioning and strong capability should still help it hold interest with the right buyer. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender safe?

The Defender comes with an extensive list of standard driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite also includes traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system. One caveat is that the lane-departure and lane-keeping assist intervention can feel too touchy, especially when you are driving near off-ramps or obstacles.

Should I buy a 2024 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 adds a host of new features and expands availability of one V8 engine option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $62,076 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $70,449 CAD average.
• It offers extra practicality through the extended-length body.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $84,112 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $70,449 CAD average.
• It adds the high-performance OCTA to the lineup.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of features, capability, and market pricing. If your priority is spending less, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly route, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer high-performance direction and are willing to pay more.
