How much does the 2024 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 10.68% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 757 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its features, comfort, handling, spaciousness, and safety options, and many also like the stylish design. In practical terms, that lines up with a small crossover that gives you useful space, easy-to-use technology, and a strong standard safety list.

The main trade-offs are that the base engine feels underpowered and the optional turbo engine can suffer from low-speed turbo-lag. Even so, the Seltos makes sense if you want a well-equipped, roomy small SUV rather than a flashy one.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, especially because they value its comfort, features, and overall practicality. That kind of response usually goes hand in hand with a car you can count on for everyday use.

The expert assessment also describes the Seltos as a well-rounded small crossover with a functional cabin and modern tech, which supports the impression of dependable day-to-day ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained properly and still feels tight and well sorted.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, cloth upholstery, fog lights, heated front seats and side mirrors, manually adjustable front seats, two USB ports, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-inch touchscreen. Higher trims add a sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a premium stereo, and other upgrades, while the X-Line focuses more on styling changes.
• Powertrain: The base 2.0-litre four-cylinder makes 146 horsepower and uses an IVT. It comes with FWD on the LX, AWD is optional on the LX and EX, and AWD is standard from EX Premium. The SX and X-Line use a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with 195 horsepower and standard AWD.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist and lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. EX Premium adds smart adaptive cruise control, while the SX adds traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function, and drive-away warning.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses an 8-inch touchscreen with a 4.2-inch digital instrument display, while upper trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel. Both versions include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the system supports wireless device charging on EX Premium and above.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-litre engine with FWD returns 8.3 L/100 km city, 6.8 highway, and 7.6 combined. With AWD, it returns 8.8 city, 7.5 highway, and 8.2 combined. The 1.6-litre turbo-four with AWD returns 9.4 city, 8.7 highway, and 9.1 combined.

Which 2024 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, EX, EX Premium, SX, and X-Line.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want a strong equipment list, including heated front seats, heated mirrors, an 8-inch touchscreen, and standard safety features. If you want AWD without moving up the range, this is the trim to watch because AWD is optional here.
• EX: This trim adds a sunroof, keyless entry with push-button start, LED daytime running lights, and upgraded upholstery, so it makes sense if you want a more polished daily driver without jumping too far in price.
• EX Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, a rear cargo cover, and standard AWD. It also brings smart adaptive cruise control, which is a meaningful upgrade for commuting and highway use.
• SX: Choose this if you want the turbocharged engine, standard AWD, the Bose premium stereo, digital key, and the most advanced driver-assistance features in the lineup. It is the right pick if you want the most complete Seltos experience.
• X-Line: This is the style-focused top trim in Canada, with unique exterior details and the turbocharged powertrain. It suits you if you want the most distinctive look and the same stronger performance hardware as the SX.

The safety package is strongest once you move beyond the EX, where additional driver-assistance features start to appear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 757 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.68% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,888 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $26,110 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,231 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you're buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If the market stays competitive, the Seltos may not rebound quickly unless demand strengthens or supply tightens.

Its strong owner satisfaction helps support long-term appeal, especially because shoppers tend to respond well to vehicles that are seen as practical, comfortable, and well equipped. That can help keep resale demand healthier than you might expect for a small crossover in this segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2024 Kia Seltos earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance includes forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist and lane-departure warning, lane-follow assist, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Warning. If you want more advanced features, you need to move up to EX Premium or higher for smart adaptive cruise control, and the SX adds traffic sign recognition, highway driving assist, a junction-turning function, and drive-away warning.

That means the base trims already give you a strong safety foundation, but the more advanced highway and adaptive features are reserved for higher trims. For used buyers, that trim split is worth paying attention to if driver assistance matters to you.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model brings upgraded tech and modest styling tweaks, while keeping the Seltos' roomy cabin and strong standard safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this formula, the 2024 is the one to target because it adds updated technology and styling without changing the Seltos' core strengths. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2024 is the better pick when you want the refreshed look and feel.
